No one has or ever will have 1k strange coins the rate at which they drop is infrequent enough to mean that you would have to farm for month do all weeklies for the guaranteed 27, do 3 nightfalls for the chance at a 9 stack drop, then run prison of elders endlessly for strange coins and dragon strike for engrams that potentially would turn into strange coins.
