No, the rage was about the content, not the price thing. And really, different markets have different costs for thibgs. That's just how it goes.
Don't like the price, don't buy the game. That's the only way to show your malcontent.

To be fair, at least consider this for a second. In the US, we are paying $40 for the base TTK, and $80 for collectors edition. That's all well and good so far. Now in the UK, the base TTK is also being sold for £40, and the CE at £80. £40 translates into over $63 in US money for the same exact content, and the CE ends up being over $120. That's outrageous, especially when you consider the original game last year in the UK only cost £40 to begin with!! So Bungie is asking them to pay the same amount that they did last year, while only receiving 1/4 the content in return. Now you can add on another £20 for just the CE digital content alone (emotes class items). That is quite rich for most casual gamers

I agree, it sucks that he price difference is how it is with how the dollar is to the pound atm.
-
Yep conversion rates are a bitch. I just think its really shitty that they've gotta pay an extra 1/3 for the same content
-
Yeah.
-
It's not different markets it's the gaming market and it's a game being sold by the one company, I couldn't give a crap about collectors shite, I can understand it has to be sold dearer over here because of tax etc but even at that it still shouldn't be more than £30.
-
It is worth what people are willing to pay. And thus the markets are different. In some areas you can charge more for the same product than other areas.
-
Edited by PhoenixBlade2013: 6/25/2015 9:51:38 AMCharging more for the same product is daylight robbery. Your happy to pay $40 which is fair enough but that only equals £25.50 for us English gamers. Put it another way would you be happy paying $62.74 for The Taken King?
-
If that's the conversion rate, then I guess I am. So for me, the content is worth it.
-
That is the rate of conversion. You would be happy because you aren't being -blam!-ed over by them. Lets face it Americans love getting everything cheaper because even if a fly got in your eye and you didn't like it you would sue nature. Self entitled american asshats.
-
American here who also doesn't like that you're getting screwed that way. Maybe you should take a step back and breathe before assuming every American is the same. You'll have a lot more friends that way.
-
Dude, chill out, that's how the conversion is. You and I can't do jack about it if we don't like it. We can't change the conversion rate, and you've been fine with it so far, so, why are you mad now?
-
It's not about the conversion rate. The pound is stronger than the dollar so the price should reflect that. There are thousands of examples of prices being altered to match the currency strength. The problem is they aren't using the conversion rate to price the game fairly in the UK and Europe. They literally are not even touching the price. Practically saying "OK its worth 40 bucks in the US, what shall we price it for the rest of the world....should we look at currency strength and conversion rates? Nah -blam!- that, far too much work, let's just call it 40 pounds and then think of all that extra profit"
-
Hey man not cool, I just made a decent post defending your point and I'm from the US. We can be just as dissatisfied as you
-
Agreed, -blam!- Americans. I'm not one of them though.
