For common entertainment goods, such as a ticket to the movies, Aussies pay approx 30% more than Americans. So to keep it in USD, that translates to: $40 USD (For TTK in America) + 30%= $52USD (for TTK in Australia).
Now the current exchange rate today is 1 USD = 1.3006 AUD.
So: if 1USD = 1.3006AUD
Then 52USD = 67.1788 AUD
So a price tag of $70 in Australia is actually pretty consistent. You may be paying additional taxes that account for that extra $3 or so.
