I had great luck with ps2 until we got the one of the first slim models. Between my dad, my brother, and me we put countless hours on the fat ps2. So many that we had to replace the laser three times. My dad repairs electronic equipment so he had a good idea what he was doing. Unfortunately when he went to replace it a third time he accidentally snapped the ribbon cable for it. That first slim ps2 we had was horrible. You could play for about 30 minutes before it would overheat and lock up. I own another slim ps2, but it's a much newer one and doesn't overheat.
