  • They actually raised it at gamestop. New is $50 while used is $45. Just yesterday it was thirty. I was gonna transfer to the One, but I'm not paying almost full price for a game I already own just because it's on another console.

  • Hahaha that's funny as hell. Gamestop is pretty worthless too, I'm sure since the E3 announcement they are going to squeeze pennies out of anyone they can. I'm lucky, in my town we have a small independent game store. Obviously sometimes things are a bit limited in the used department, but they always have enough new games on release day and they are awesome to deal with on used. Always cheaper than gamestop and are willing to deal more with the "usual" customers. Also on trades, once again they give more than gamestop, and if you have old school stuff to bring in and think they are quoting you a bit low, just say something and they make a deal. But usually first offer is damn good. Enough of the rant lol just wish there were more places like this for everyone.

  • Wish I had a store here like that, I'd choose that any day

  • Yeah we need more. It's funny tho, the owners both worked for gamestop for a long time and quit and started their own and did it right. Gamestop used to be good, but like all retail business, end up charging more for worse service. And I mean that more on the used side, since new games prices are already set.

You probably wont.have to buy it again. If Bungie/Activision allows backwards compatibility for Destiny, you can put the 360 destiny disc in your xbox one and be able to download the game for free. Dont buy destiny yet, wait awhile to see if they do it with destiny.

If they do backwards capatability for that specific game everyone gets it for free that has xbox one. It iant just for some people. Its for everyone who owned the game on the previous console. Something smart microsoft has finally done.

  • Yeah for sure. I like the way they are implementing it. I have both ps4 and xbox one, and ps now is fun and worth the price I guess for streaming ps3 games, since I never had a ps3 and don't own any games. But I am glad on Xbox it turns into a download after you show a form of ownership. I agree it's a very smart move.

They will. When you put the 360 disc in the xbox one it allows you to download the digital copy. It doesnt play the disc. So yes it will change the graphics

Again, the developers of Destiny have to give the OK to Microsoft to allow them to do this. They're kinda assholes lol, im not sure that they will allow it. They like their money.. Clearly.

Don't think it'll update graphics to current Gen stuff. It's just a Sim of a 360 (or emulator whichever you wish to use) that will allow you to play 360 games via xbox one, and use the 360 dashboard for matchmaking. My guess will be they won't restrict the ram, but will keep the graphics the same so it runs smoother than it did on the 360 console itself. But, who knows, maybe they will up the graphic quality. We'll see soon enough.

Thats what they said, yes. I noticed that... I also noticed that they said that by putting a 360 disc into the xbox one console (provided the people who created the game gave microsoft the OK to allow this) it would start a download of the game for xbox one. By creating an emulator of the game theyd be doing alot more work than they would if they were to just give people the digital copy of the game for X1 console. I doubt theyd offer their help in doing that much work to create emulators of each and every game that the developers allow them to do that with. I think that by having the 360 copy they said its rather unfair for people to not have it for xbox 1 as well considering they already bought the game, why buy it again. Also, with backwards compatibility and players being able to play the same game with other players between the old gen and new gen consoles, what would be the point of getting the game for the other console if not for only better graphics (and better servers so ive heard)?

  • True, and you make good points. The 360 emulator is just that, an emulator. It's like the 360 emulators they have for PC. It just emulates the 360 and the one I used, you could use a rom of a game, or have software that reads the disc of an 360 game in your DVD drive and it'll load up to launch the game. What you're referring to, I believe, are roms, which you just rip the contents off of a disc, and compress it into an iso file, and run it using a virtual drive, which technically, the 360 would be said virtual drive. This would explain why you can just download the disc onto your xb1 and play the game without the disc in the bluray drive. The system is downloading the files from the 360 disc and writing an iso file for it. Regarding better servers for matchmaking, I'm a little lost on that one.

Ah I see.... What I meant with better servers are not solely for matchmaking.. Xbox one destiny servers are much more smooth than the 360 servers. For example, if you play Destiny on 360 you know that when you try to use a heavy ammo synthesis, it takes 15-30+ seconds for your inventory to actually load and enable you to finally use a heavy ammo synthesis. However on the xbox one, the inventory loads much faster if not instantly. So like i said, more smooth. Just for clarification purposes please know I don't see this as an argument as most people would on these treacherous forums. I simply wish to exchange information to better see or think of what is to come as a pose to what is already here. A friendly exchange, if you will.

  • Of course, information is key, and so is dialogue. I see what you mean by the servers. Unfortunately, I do not think that is what causes the inventory screen to take forever to load 360 vs xb1. If memory serve right, the x360 only had 512mb of ram in it (if not 1gigs worth), where as the xb1 has 8 I believe? 5 gigs of it going to the games themselves. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just going off of what I remember seeing almost 2 years back lol). Because of the ram limitations between the 2 consoles (among other limitations), that would be why the frames per second rates drop on 360 or why the inventory takes forever to load. Seeing as I don't have my ps4 yet, and haven't seen destiny played on it, I can't tell you if the xb1 cloud services they offer for games effect the inventory screen, among other things, or if Destiny even uses that resource. That being said, I believe when the emulator is released on xb1 to play 360 games, they might allow more than 512mb/1gig of ram to play the games, making it a bit smoother and have less fps drops. Of course, the statement directly above is my opinion and purely speculation, but it would make sense. Unfortunately, it might not be the case becauer of being able to play with people on the actual 360 console.
