Sooooooo wait a minute, master chief just got proven innocent for the embassy shooting, and in halo 5, he's going to do something that's going to make him the most wanted man in the galaxy again and this time oni is going to devote an entire spartan IV team to hunt him down after he's been proven innocent. That seems strange.
That and I think oni just wraps things up a little too nicely, I think anyone listing would find that convenient footage a little fishy.
First Mshak, then Ray, Anthony double crossing, and then Ben, Petra might as well be screwwed!
No chief is cleared out for Ben, no one else believes it. The reason is is 'AWOL' is he never actually did anything ONI just wants to get rid of the spartan 2s
-
That's completely wrong. The ending of hunt the truth makes it abundantly clear that the chief is no longer being framed in the public eye. The reason chief is AWOL is because something happened to him that makes him and blue team go off the grid. Locke isn't even being sent to kill him. And he doesn't hate chief. He's being sent to find out where he is and why he's been missing.

Do you really think ONI would just sit there and let a bunch of aging Spartans on the loose? That is why Locke is hunting him. In the prologue of H2A Locke says "I will bring him back"
-
Yes i get that, but they're not going to just kill them. Locke is tasked with bringing him home, yet this other guy is saying that they're trying to sacrifice the Spartan IIs to replace them with IVs, which is entirely untrue, and I don't even know where he got that notion from.

That's just Del Rio being... Well del rio, they probably changed that after the announcement that chief is innocent

Edited by Squeezy: 6/15/2015 10:46:35 AMNo, the recent GameInformer article on Halo 5 states a simple plot. Chief going MIA set him up as a Martyr and a reason to reboot the Spartan program (Spartan IV). Him coming back ruins everything and ONI wants to get rid of Spartan II As far as the ending of Hunt the Truth, you are correct. The public believes Chief is cleared.

Again, completely wrong. I'm looking at the GI article right now and there is nothing in there that comes close to what you just said. All it says with regards to the Chief is, and I quote, "whatever the case may be, Chief is on the run with a fireteam of his oldest compatriots, the last remaining active Spartan II's: Fred, Linda, and Kelly. Blue Team is considered AWOL by the Office of Naval Intelligence and Spartan Locke is tasked with recruiting a squad of his own, Fireteam Osiris, and tracking him down." AWOL simply means Absent WithOut Leave, it merely means that the Chief is missing and no one knows why or where, but WE know that "something happens to Chief," which causes Blue Team to drop off the grid. Locke is merely trying to "bring him home."
-
ONI listed him as AWOL to criminalize him.
-
That's lame, even for oni

It's also completely untrue
