So I've given this subject some thought and realised that there's a lot of easy ways of getting exotics these days. I'm fine with you getting exotics trough raids and what not else. But if you ask me Xur really ruined the rarity of some of the best weapons which we're supposed to be for elite player only at the time (for example red death, TLW, thunderlord, icebreaker). Him selling those weapons lead up to them being overused and in the end getting nerfed (suros).
So I think that I came up with a fairly good solution to this situation that I think of as an issue.
What I though that of initally was having Xur sell an exotic weapon engram each time he visits us. The type of those engrams would be of course primary, special and heavy weapon engram. He would bring one of those 3 which would be randomly chosen. Once he brought it you could buy only one weapon engram per character for lets say 12 strange coins. The reason I thought why they would be cheaper is because you don't know what you're investing them in (it could be a ghally or it could be dragons breath). And to keep people from being able to spam those engrams you would be able to buy only one engram per a charcter per a week.
I know a lot of players might have an issue with this method because xur is the only way that they could earn exotics (this applies to me as well). But a lot of people forget that xur is here to get you started with your exotic collection and the rest is on you.
Anyways I think this would be a pretty good way of making exotics a bit rarer and less overused in the future. If I could get some feedback that would be amazing.
