The truth about Thorn and Final Round Spear!!!
Tell us why you really hate these weapons?
Lets be real for a minute.
Is it because you aren't good enough to counter them?
Is it because you dont have these guns?
Is it because your K/D ratio sucks?
or are you just a natural born hater to anything in life that kicks ass?

I have to say though, I've been to the lighthouse 9 times and ive never had a problem going against people using thorn or final round. I think we can agree it all comes to player skill. Lower skilled players seem to be the haters.
Edit: Some people dont understand how OP weapons work. Their will ALWAYS be 1or 2 weapons that significantly stand out.
HALO 1 = Bad ass pistol and the AR
HALO 2= BR
Halo 3 = BR
Vanilla Destiny = Vex and Suros
Dark Below = Vex and Suros
AR Nerf = Thorn and Last Word ( Also Hawkmoon for PS users)
So lets say they nerf the hand cannons. All the same people are going to begin complaining about Red Death and Strangers rifle.

1 ReplyDirected at final round, i only hate the people using it, IF they're the type who waste shots just to get the one shot body shot. If you legitimately get the final round to proc by actually shooting AT enemy players, much respect to you [spoiler]unless you fire off 3 clips worth and don't even hit body shots, then just go get your shotgun again instead [/spoiler]

I never really cared what killed me. I should be good enough to counter. If not, then the other player deserved the win. Only time I get mad is when the game lags... I Wish we had dedicated servers.

Also I have to agree with you. If hand cannons are nerfed, then MIDA and red death would probably become the top weapons. Then they will be nerfed and Suros will be the king of nerfed weapons. The cycle will not stop. Personally I don't feel like thorn adds a huge advantage over the other primary exotics. I have seen players dominate like no other with no land beyond... It is all about skill. Too many people is like oh I will use thorn because I know it works and too afraid to experiment. Ps I use hawkmoon because it fits my play style. I don't need luck in the chamber to have the upper hand over thorn users. It's all about reaction, action, and tactics. Don't stand out in the open and expect to win against someone with thorn. Take some kind of cover. Move around.

I hate it because it hardly never kills me but the poison does, i can remember countless times in trials where im last gaurdian alive and i die because of that poison... Its annoying I have both of these weapons, i love my efrideet's to death but frankly hardly ever use my thorn, if thorn was nerfed so the poisoning affect couldnt KILL you i would be absolutely fine

when the whole enemy teams ..just uses final round....it's not about skill it's one hit...I have one but don't waste bullets just for a one hit kill...yes in my opinion it's op

I hate thorn because of the fact that it's all anyone uses. I can't even go into clash without some loser spamming thorn shots. Like seriously, try a legendary primary sometime. I have like 7 new legendaries to test out, surely you can avoid using your crutch for a game of clash. As for final round snipers... I have it on my ES, and to be honest I snipe better when I don't worry about it. I tend to reload out of habit and forget about it, but when I do think about it I just miss because I'm overcompensating.

Its just overused(thorn) , and I believe people don't like it because they feel they have to use it or they won't be as competitive. There's about 3 or 4 guns that can counter it on a consistent basis. I believe people want more variety especially in PvP.

2 RepliesBeen to the lighthouse 9 times. Thorn is a little bullshit but nothing crazy. While final round can be a bit cheap. If you're up against three good snipers as is and they have final round. The odds tip excessively. Still beatable, but still cheap.

I really don't have a problem with thorn. Most of the time I don't get 2 shotted. If I do, the guy usually out played me. Kudos to them on that. If they got lucky, well maybe luck will go my way next time. Again, doesn't really bother me. The people who use thorn as a crutch, well as soon as you adapt then they struggle. Final round snipers when used as a crutch are much harder to counter. The guy barely has to aim and can one shot you. These are the guys that burn through the mag to get to the last round. If people use the perk but aren't doing that (ie actually try for head shots) then it's not an issue for me. But abusing a perk like that because you can't win otherwise, that sounds cheap to me. Fortunately I don't think I have run into any players that really abused it.

You have to have better skill or luck if you have a chance to compete with them. Plus you're using a final round Spear. What's up with that if all you need is skill?

I out snipe final round spears easily. I don't care much for those but the thorn is alittle bit overpowered. Now I never believed the Suros was overpowered. It could've been dumbed down alittle but it was just hated because it was over used. The gun required accuracy to kill. The thorn requires the user to be able to hit two or three shots on their target and if they are lucky enough to hit even one headshot then boom you are at 25% health. I believe only special weapons should have the ability to kill that fast. Some people say that we should buff everything else to counter the thorn but I don't want this game to turn out like call of duty ghost where every weapon is killing you in 2 seconds or less. I want a game that requires some gun skill and takes a little more than a headshot and a body shot with a handcannon to kill me. I can understand something like the timurs lash but that takes skill and has a very slow fire rate. The thorn has a high rof and no stability with one perk and a lot of range with another. Just a small tweak will make that gun alright. I can handle it now and I don't use it before any of you toxic forum users comment on this. I just want this gun to be balanced not nerfed to the ground like the Suros.

1 ReplyFinal round doesn't belong in the game. Headshots with a sniper are already a one hit kill. No need to shoot someone in the toe and get a kill. That's just ridiculous and doesn't show any sense of skill whatsoever. Not even a little. This is coming from someone that has the final round sniper. Although, the only place it really matters is ToO. That's a huge swing in power by downing a man in one shot. This was easy to counter this week however: Dance party in the church and push a stalemate to objective. Come out swinging with shotguns.

I don't think anything that one shots you. Thorn, last word, vex, even if your hit you still have a chance to duck for cover and there is a chance of an actual fight. Even shotguns unless they surprise you you can generally jump or backtrack out of range and kill them, if your killed by a camper you just go back and grenade them. But snipers can get you from anywhere and unless they've picked a flank able spot then you can only counter them with a sniper. I just tend to avoid them and go somewhere else but for me their the most annoying

9 RepliesI find it funny when people complain about Thorn with the DoT perk, this makes Thorn a two headshot kill and a three body shot kill. Hawkmoon is exactly the same, yet no one will complain about Hawkmoon.

Thorn is just a bit overpowered, nothing crazy, not to irksome. The final round spear however... It's fine if someone is consciously trying to kill with the first two or so rounds, as well as the last, but emptying to clip to the last round is essentially an exploit, and just a dick move.

Well you see I have a thorn and it's a huge crutch only because of the poison I have out gunned thorn numerous almost every time but the poison they leave gets me half the time I think the poison should stop after they die
