I'll clarify. I think they should stop streaming, do something productive, and give the donations they received to charity.

As should sports people, celebrities, authors, musicians and artists, right? I mean, all they do is produce entertainment for an audience. That's essentially a waste, right? They should be doing something productive!
-
Artists and athletes can be very productive or unproductive. I wouldn't rule them all on one side.
-
And I wouldn't rule all streamers on one side, either. Many streamers donate to charity. Many streamers work full time jobs, and stream in their downtime. Many streamers stream simply because they love streaming. But all in all, they're entertainers. Just like any other entertainer, there are good ones and bad ones. Just because you like movies more than watching people play video games doesn't mean one is morally for socially better than the other.
-
A lot of streamers work real jobs and stream afterward. Whats the harm in them making an extra few quid. Times are hard for some people.
-
Do something productive such as? If you're going to start picking holes in what jobs are productive or not then you're going to have a bad time.

This kind of discussion doesn't work well in comment dialogue form. I've tried. It's an interesting topic, especially since the popularity of youtube and twitch has risen.
-
It's very subjective. I don't see my job as particularly productive. I'm a chef and I cook food for people too lazy to cook for themselves. Should I give all the money I make to charity?
-
I think feeding people is pretty productive.
