The game has always been too easy. Their only way of making it challenging is manipulating the damage ratio between you and the enemy to make you squishy as a wet sponge, and the enemy almost unkillable compared to every other time you play, in other words just putting the enemy a level above you. THAT is the core mechanic behind the entire game. The fact that you are a lower level than the enemy. They did it for TDB and now they are doing it with HoW. A real MMO player knows that when the grind is over, the real game is learning very specific mechanics of specific raids and finding a team that can work together and also has the skill set to make it work. Right now what that means is be a Titan and/or have a Gjallarhorn. That's an awful mechanic to rely on for a game. You can literally take a soldier out of CoD:AW and give him our weapons, stick him in a fireteam and he would probably come out unscathed using the current strategies. There are no mechanics that force you to find a team of a certain makeup, like other games. There are no mechanics that force all players to stand in DIFFERENT specific locations RELATIVE to each other at certain times, other than the CE bridge and that is just basically "stand here and don't die". The AI's targeting system is complete shit as enemies continue trying to shoot at dead guardians. Every enemy is virtually the same, the only difference between them being whether they have a shield or not, and what kind of damage they do. No special abilities, blah blah. "That's too hardcore MMO for us," says Bungle. Atheon is literally a giant goblin. Crota is literally a giant knight. Skolas is literally a giant captain. Why not have us do something that requires skill for once? Maybe some kind of fight between us and something smaller, OUR size. Much faster than we are, teleporting all over the map like the stranger, making certain parts of the floor burn like urrox, showing up behind us while we're on a pillar to avoid that trying to slash us with an arc blade in a fixed path, shooting a rapid fire rocket launcher at us every 5 minutes, forcing us to maneuver and coordinate as if we were playing 3d Megaman Zero with a team. Now that's a game that I would have genuine fun with. Not the current one where we sit in a bubble and shoot rockets at a giant captain from a safe distance.
