I pretty much do the same on all characters. If you're using a shotgun you should use the initial boost of speed jump. If you quickly tap a 3 times while running you will be flying. Lightning grenade is easily the best grenade in control for me. You shouldn't rely on their abilities too much like hunters and warlocks do. Save your super for denying heavy.
