Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the "bullets" aren't actually bullets. When reloading the hand cannon you are placing one large "bullet" into the cylinder. As I am an enthusiast when it comes to revolvers I have put a lot of thought into this. It bothered me to the point that I came up with my own explanation. Considering that some of the hand cannons fire far more rounds than any cylinder could possibly hold it stands to reason that the ammo these weapons use are not bullets at all. Instead, it's most likely some form of extremely dense matter or energy or whatever (I'm obviously not an expert in this area). The hammer doesn't have to align with a bullet because there isn't one. It's simply telling the cylinder that it's time to pop off a some of that dense energy/matter stuff. It could very well be that the barrel and everything around it are what creates the energy and the cylinder is just a disposable battery. Anyway, the point is, the cylinder obviously doesn't have bullets in it, so it's a moot point.
