The sidearm weapon class is probably going to function very much like a toned down hand cannon in a semi auto pistol shaped package. It'll be more of a quick finisher weapon than a damage dealer. Think about it, there currently is not a mid range secondary that can be drawn and fired effectively when you run out of ammo when shooting an enemy. All the secondaries function as primary damage dealers, this class will be a collection of "NITC" styled weapons.
