It's so hard to think that 343 would create a plot twist like this for us to accept at face value. "Hey, that Chief guy you like so much... The one that saved humanity's ass a bunch of times and selflessly put himself at risk for the benefit of the entire human race. Him? Yeah, him. Yeah he's a prick now."

Not saying he did it out of evil reasons, but the narrative established today had multiple sources corroborating what Chief did. The thing we don't know is why. If the Chief is also rolling with Covies, then some serious shit is going to go down. The deep space anomalies must be more serious than we can even imagine.
