Idk thats kinda shitty for low levels. I think the wolves should be more common on mars and venus, imagine running into this shit 10 kills away for the 100 kill bounty as a level 5-6.
I remember dying by blades of crota that way and it pissed me the -blam!- off.
Patrol areas are supposed to be for low levels, having enemies that are immune to anything they throw at them is kinda BS.
Im all for community boss battles, but the level should correspond, earth patrol is supposed to be for people <level 10.
Just my two cents..
Edit: basically I think these harder bosses are a good idea, but it could have been implemented in a way that wouldn't be quite as frustrating for lower levels who are just trying to complete patrol missions.
Anddd on the other hand I dont think low levels should get the loot just from standing there and dying.

If you think this is an issue wait until Taken King comes out :) Plus, it's very hard to get killed by the Wolves unless you get too close which is then your fault. If you need to get by fast be smart and use a sparrow. They don't have to change it for a few new players who can't use common sense.

I know what you mean. We had a level 5 joining in on the moon for it yesterday. Would be a way for them to get some blue engrams though.
