Good point. No one remembers their gorilla relatives? And why are monkeys still monkeys and not half people? Why is no one like.. hey.. I'm one generation away from being a monkey. My grandma is a monkey, you never hear that.
Oh I suppose we all just magically evolved from apes at the exact same time and then it never happened again.

Please tell me you are joking with this! You do realize there were and are many species of primates and we only evolved from one of them. Many died off along the way and many never evolved past their current state for numerous reasons. Try actually learning about natural selection before blurting out ridiculous things. :)

As a species, we evolved at the same time. Originally there might have been only a few Homo sapiens. These would have had children that were Homo sapiens, and their children would be Homo sapiens ETC.
