Should ROC Strike Loot Tables Be Reworked?

Other than gaining vanguard marks, having fun, and wasting time until the weekly reset, what purpose do ROC strikes have after a person reaches level 30+? Even though ROC strikes guarantee a blue engram, armor piece, or weapon, those items serve only to add to a steadily growing number of class specific materials and weapon parts. Let me preface this by saying that I am not requesting for a bump in the exotic drop rate and that this is not another gjallarhorn topic. What I am proposing is that Bungie increase the rate at which strike only shaders, ships, and legendary engrams drop, maybe Bungie can even through in vehicle upgrades to add variety. Obviously the drop rate would be dependent upon the type of item (ex. legendary engrams should not drop more often than a shader or ship). Lastly, I understand that some may say my strike completions may not give me much credibility, but I also feel that it doesn’t take a person to complete 1000 strikes to understand that they are mundane. Let me know what you think. *Edit 1* So from what I'm seeing, a few of people are wanting an increase in rep gain without making changes to the loot tables. Would this be sufficient and enticing enough to draw players into the strike playlist? As I've stated in some of my responses, I personally don't believe so, I think that the majority of players are seeking specific exotic items. With an in increase in legendary engram drops there is also an increase chance of one of those engrams eventually turning into an exotic. But hey, if Bungie wants to increase rep gain along with other item drop rates, by all means be my guest, that's just icing on the cake.

  • I'd say leave the tables the same. More rep is what I'd go for. Once reforging comes it would be too easy to get perfect weapons

  • I just wish Ships would drop more for me. I have had 1 ship drop after a shit ton of rocs and tigers.

  • The other day we did 4 roc strikes, my friend got 3 legendary engrams and a plan c from the rewards... I don't think it needs messing with.

    • Personally because the loot is so bad I barely do roc strikes anymore. The rep they give I can obtain in less than a minute on patrol.

    • They need better strike lists, with highest level having increased legendary engram's/exotic drops. If the hardest one had a burn for the week, that would be excellent, random modifiers, anything like that would spice it up and encourage us to play them more. Borrow some of Diablos rift concepts, randomly generating different strikes with bosses and modifiers is my dream.

    • Though I wouldn't mind a reworking of the loot tables, the increased rep gain would be very nice :D considering you get the same rep for killing a 10 second patrol "miniboss" (if you could even call them that) as you would for a 15 minute strike boss it makes alot of sense. Perhaps double or triple the strike reputation, that would definitely give me enough incentive to keep on playing those playlists :P

      • Glad I read edit - saved me typing a bunch about simply increasing REP gain More loot is always welcome - I like experimenting with rare/legendaries to the point I'm constantly out of weapon parts

        Rocs are very easy though. Why reward easy tasks with the best loot available? Its fine as is since you're able to grind them out anyway, u still get chances for exotic drops so its still a plus If theyd make more good loot available, at least add multiple variables into the already repetitive strikes

      • Also, at the end of the day(week) unless you are super casual, or maybe even because you are, you will probably end up grinding roc strikes with nothing left to do. Most hardcore gamers probably finish the nightfalls and weeklies by Tuesday/ Wednesday and then all of the raids by Friday night. This leaves sat, sun, and monday with no more "must complete" events, and so most of these people are grinding rocs by then.

      • I think they should increase the drop rate for legendaries at the end, keep exotics where they are, and maybe add a similar but seperate drop chance for exotic engrams, including exotic weapon engrams. They should perhaps create some really cool blues with unique perks or looks that are also competitive in pvp like strangers rifle so that hunting for blues can be worth it. On top of all that, they should add little tokens for all the factions except expansion factions and cryptarch that increase rank with that faction by like 50 or so that have a chance to drop at the end of a strike. They should increase the number of ships and sparrows as well as shaders both blue and purple and give them a chance to drop. Allow people to sell excess shaders, sparrows, and ships for a small amount of glimmer. Then they should add a chance for strikes to drop a pack of materials which could be class mats or regular upgrade mats like relic iron etc. Then include a chance to drop the plus 200 glimmer tokens and the increase to glimmer dropped tokens, telemetries and heavy ammo synths. Then include a chance to drop faction weapons, shaders, and armor if you are at rank 3 or higher and wearing the faction class item. ( they should create some vanguard and crucible specific class items that are purely for looks and do not give you rep from doing other things.) Finally they should increase the post game rewards screen to include 3 loot spaces instead of two, and have them work like this. #1 will drop automatically for completing the strike. #2 will drop for completing the strike with at least 50 combined kill, assists, revives, and orbs. Subtract 5 per death. #3 will drop for completing the strike with at least 100 combined kills, assists, revives, and orbs. Subtract 5 per death. #1 A strong chance to drop a blue engram with a smaller chance to drop white upgrade mat packs, glimmer tokens, +glimmer tokens, and an even smaller chance to drop blue shaders and motes of light. A very small chance to drop blue shipprints and strange coins. Extremely Super Ultra rare chance to drop an exotic. #2 A strong chance to drop motes of light, glimmer tokens, blue shaders, telemetries and mat packs, with a smaller chance to drop blue shipprints, strange coins, and faction rep tokens. An even smaller chance to drop green sparrows or heavy ammo synths. A very rare chance to drop purple engrams, or purple mats. Super Ultra rare chance to drop an exotic. Extremely super ultra rare chance to drop an exotic armor engram. #3. A strong chance to drop strange coins heavy ammo synths, green sparrows or faction token. A smaller chance to drop blue sparrows, and ascendant mats. An even smaller chance to drop purple ship prints or purple engrams. A very small chance to drop purple shaders, faction purples/ships/shaders, and purple sparrows. Ultra rare chance to drop an exotic. Super ultra rare chance to drop an exotic weapon engram. I may have to edit the drop chance levels, or fiddle with the reqs for getting each tier, but i fee like this change would bring the fun back to running roc strikes again, and also allow people to get a more varried amount of stuff. The same principle could be put in affect for weekly heroic at level 30, crucible, and nightfalls albeit with edited reqs and rewards to fit the challenge.

      • I haven't hit the ole strike play list in a while. It can be a fun way to kill enemies and stuff, but over all, I'm not really in the mood to run strikes lately. As far as the loot: I've gotten a few legendary engrams, but I've seen two group mates get exotics. So I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of luck there. I think a bump in rep is needed to make them even somewhat worth it. Depending on the rewards for the level 28 PoE event, it could completely replace the strike playlist. If you're actually getting some measure of HoW loot from the 28 PoE, why do the Roc list?

      • Double the rep gained. Bounties give 12 each after a Nightfall buff and you can complete 3 or 4 of those in the same time it normally takes to complete a Strike. Give 50 rep per Strike. Give the top players a double roll during the rewards screen. I usually run as best k/d during a strike (nothing to brag about cause they're easy) and it'd be nice to get a reward for doing so. Instead of a double roll how about extra rep. If they double standard rep to 50 then give me 100. Better chance at shaders, ships and give some glimmer awards.

      • No, the strikes are too basic and easy. Not to mention that people keep complaining about them and Bungie keeps making them easier for all the brats. Roc strike should give slightly more rep ad glimmer but that's it.

          • Spend 15 minutes on strike get 25 rep. Spend 2 minutes on patrol mission, get 25 rep. What the -blam!-? More rep from strikes.

            • Honestly I think if they added guaranteed glimmer as a reward it would be better. Also they should add consumables like jackolyte that can drop. I think legendaries have a drop rate that matches the difficulty of the playlist.

            • Pretty sure all loot drops are in fact being overhauled ...at least crucible is.. 1st place has higher chance to get good loot. Should be like that in strikes... Person who dealt out most damage and more kills gets better loot.

            • ROC Strikes should not get an increase in Exotix drops, but seeing shaders, ships and maybe some legendary drop more frequently would be very nice
