The Big Ass Gear Buffs n' Nerfs Post

Some gear in Destiny feels either too powerful or blatantly useless. For example, split second deaths that would require inhuman reaction times to avoid (or just another weapon like it) from high latency Thorn Hunters are all too common in PvP, and weapons like Necrochasm are simply painful to use. (As a side note, this is not so I can complain about Thorn, Last Word, or shotguns, it's so I can complain about EVERYTHING.) So I have decided to completely waste my time in making suggestions for all the various exotics and gear perks. I would love to see other ideas from others who post, although that won't happen and I will most likely just get "get good scrub lol". Can't wait. Exotic Weapons. #1. No Land Beyond. NLB is fun to use, yet it really is not good. Sure, if you practice enough with it you can headshot players easy, but you're sacrificing a primary and exotic slot, and the two other exotic snipers are much more worth their exotic slot, really. Even a legendary rifle performs better, honestly. There would be multiple ways to buff NLB, but I would go about it like this. - The "The Master" perk would proc on precision kill, the damage increase would be something like +500%, but it would only proc on repeated precision hits, and could be chained with kills. Additionally, the bolt cycle animation would be greatly sped up on Master procs. #2. Vex Mythoclast. The Mythoclast is one of the only unique looking weapons in Destiny, and possibly one of the coolest. That doesn't excuse the fact that it feels quite weak in PvE compared to other primaries, everything considered. Or the fact that it's yet another split second death machine in PvP. The nerf/buff I would suggest for this weapon is simple. - Fire rate reduced to somewhere around Focused Fire Auto Rifle fire rate. Crit damage in PvE would be increased to counteract this. PvP damage and all other stats unaffected. #3. Thorn. Oh boy. I personally hate everything about Thorn. Not just the annoying factor in PvP, but the design, the sound, the feel of using it, everything. But any opinion from me is worthless, so. What I would do to nerf Thorn is. - Round capacity reverted to 6, and it's fire rate reduced. DoT damage increase in PvE. No other changes. #4. Universal Remote. Primary shotgun, sounds neat, right? Nah. It's meh, and we all know it. Yes, cheeky PvP player, we know you're being super cheeky by running a twin shotgun loadout. My recommendation for this gun is possibly not the best choice, but whatever. - Aiming the scope gives massive amounts of range, and also clusters the pellets into a slug round, along with a fire rate increase. Damage while in scope would be greatly decreased in PvP, maybe 3 shot headshot kills, 4 shot bodyshot kills at ranges. I can't think of any other changes besides that rework for the UR so MOVING ON. #5. The Last Word Neat weapon, but extremely annoying. That's all I really gotta say. - Reduce mag capacity to 6, so it actually makes some damn sense. Greatly increase reload speed to compensate. Maybe add a snazzy reload animation to go along with the flipple. Most importantly fix the bug in PvP that allows for hip fire precision damage to proc while in sights. Increase overall damage in PvE so it's more in line with other primaries. #6. Dragon's Breath. Classic World War fighter plane style, smoking barrel, goddamn SUN ROCKETS. But the sun rockets suck. Aw. - Slightly increased velocity, solar flares produced by the rockets are larger and have a vortex effect that pulls enemies in, in PvP this pull would be easily avoidable, but still possible to be pulled. #7. Super Good Advice. Amazing look, great sound, on paper it seems like it would kick ass, right? Sadly, it doesn't. - Massively increased magazine size, like in the 250-300 range. The unique perk would also have a lowered chance to save rounds on hit as well. Stability increase. Ammunition rework: Heavy ammo bricks would feed ammo directly into the magazine, but to compensate, ammo is never saved in reserve. Use it or lose it. (Make it have voice lines like it's supposed to as well.) #8. Hawkmoon. Being an Xbone player, I cannot say from experience how Hawkmoon performs. But looking at the numbers and gameplay in PvP, I think it needs a slight change. - The three random damage rounds would have slightly decreased damage, maybe enough to avoid the quick 2 shot kills I so commonly see in PS4/3 gameplay. No other changes in PvP, the weapon would stay exactly the same in PvE. Exotic Armor. #1. Starfire Protocol. - Innate Gift of the Sun. Simple. #2. Sunbreakers. - Innate burn DoT for Solar Grenades, larger area of effect, along with the current longer duration. I cannot think of a single thing for Apotheosis Veil. If anyone can think of a good buff, please comment! #3. Radiant Dance Machines. - Overall movement speed increase, increased double jump height. #4. Don't Touch Me. - Longer invisibility duration, increased damage resistance, resistance would be on a lower scale in PvP. #5. Young Ahamkara's Spine. - Tripmine duration increase stays, Swarm Grenade projectile count and tracking distance increased. Incendiary Grenade blast radius increase. I have no idea what to do for ATS/8 ARACHNID. #6. No Backup Plans. - Innate Gift of Light and Relentless perks. And buff Auto Rifles or something. Especially the low impact ones.
