Well, you know how hard it is to break routines. Try eating dinner with the fork n knife in the wrong hands and see how much extra effort you put into cutting some meat :) Same goes for these guys on the forums. Their routine is strangely enough to complain at everything before they even know what they complain about. And when they do know, they find something else to complain about. This because knowing what they complain about breaks the routine. Or something... this sounded less crazy in my head before I wrote it :/

  • Ever consider some of us have gamed long enough to have experienced horde mode before? Do you really believe Bungie is breaking new ground here? Seriously? Fanboys were spouting that line... "You don't even know what it is yet. How do you know it's horde mode? That's just what the community came up with. Bungie never said that. Wait until it comes out before you express an opinion." Well, well, well. Horde mode. Just as shallow and pointless as many of us guessed. Now the goal post is moved again to "How can you complain about it. You haven't played it yet." I've done horde mode before. I don't like it. I don't have to pay another fee to find out I don't like something I already know I don't like. I don't know how to break it to some of you guys but... Bungie isn't inventing fire here. They are not offering anything new. They are offering more options, but nothing "new". But you know the really weird part? I'm kind of glad they did, even if I hate it. Because many people seem to be thrilled about it. If that's true, if it's really true the community wants that kind of game, maybe Bungie is right. Just not right for me. I'm not going to act like the whole thing is good if I don't believe it is. On the other hand, I can't argue with a sound business decision if that's what it turns out to be. THAT'S what will be interesting to watch.

The game should have been released with a horde/survival mode. This is an FPS so the whole point is to shoot things. Having more is better. Destiny moving away from the limited PVP only options was a selling point. Edit: Not that people should be monkey stomping you for having a critique over the advertised content.

  • Oh I can take it. I learned to be an individual a long time ago. I can say I don't like it while also saying I'm happy for those that do. It may or not be a success. I'm guessing more not than anything. We'll see how broken it turns out to be, but if it's like anything else in Destiny, the wails and gnashing of teeth will soon flood the board. It will be a true test of the fanboy faithful. Only those that are worthy and hold out 'til the end will transcend. Seriously though, I guess I hope it does work out. I have lots of friends online, and a lot of them want to play. I can't be too much of a prick about this. My side lost. I have to deal with it.

  • I think three man teams for PVE will be a lot easier to pull off. Going in with low expectations is the way to handle it. TDB still has a bad after taste in my mouth. This new PVE mode is going to decide it for me. New weapons or area mean very little. Everything hinges on the activity. They already scored some points with me over upgrading gear. The only way this will be a disaster (for me) will be if. 1: Being able to upgrade to the new levels becomes a new #forever29 2: The new content has the same playability like the CE was at week-one with pre-TDB gear stats I'd like to think the Bungie Devs learned something from the many needless past mistakes.

  • I think you have to look at it from the business side rather than the creative side. If people are satisfied with the product, they'll keep making it at the same level. No need to improve anything - that just costs more money. Take McDonald's. It's the biggest fast-food restaurant chain in the world. Based on what? Cheap burger, soggy fries, and watered-down drink. And they're still #1. Why? Because they set an expectation level and deliver. You know when you walk in there you're going to get a cheap burger, soggy fries, and watered-down drink. Always the same, all around the world. I ate in a Rome, Italy McDonalds once, and other than mayo instead of ketchup on the fries, I would have thought I was in the US. Now that seems odd given the hype Bungie puts into the pre-sale atmosphere, but here's the deal - no one with a brain believes they are going to give us anything even close to being as good as the trailers. We are all going to get cheap burgers, soggy fries, and watered-down drinks, and we damn well know it. Watch and see if people don't climb all over one another to throw money on the pile. No, I can't see any impetus for Bungie to improve. Take it or leave it is how I see it.

  • Thanks tongue wonderful world of pre-sales measuring any lost demand due to lackluster quality won't be shown one way or another until after HoW. After the game launch and certain issues started cropping up I always said I'll be measuring the whole game against the $100 pre-order. For me the HoW is potentially the first move in the right direction. However lacking any more reforms or efforts after I think at most this will be a $65 dollar game. Which is sad.
