Optional matchmaking feedback

Deej posted a question for the community. What else would players like to see and asked for us to post our suggestions in feedback. Here is mine: Optional matchmaking please. I know this may be a hot topic at Bungie with some of the end game high level content. But optional still gives players choices. It's sad so many casual players or folks with less time are locked out and discouraged or intimidated from playing end level activities because of a lack of optional matchmaking. Forcing players to leave the game and depend on outside LFG websites controlled by 3rd party vendors not affiliated with Bungie is shocking and disappointing. Bungie studios may like or support the 3rd party sites currently; however those sites could change content and will Bungie still approve those sites in the future. What happens if those sites ever decide to add web advertisements or a subscription fee. It might be a wise business decision to get ahead of that now and start the process of in house IN GAME optional matchmaking for activities. In my opinion these activities should include the higher level content and all content. From daily story missions, up to nightfalls and ToO PvP could benefit. Understand I say optional allowing any lone wolf solo players or pre made teams the ability to still engage content as they see fit. I was very surprised the new Trials of Osiris would not allow some from of Optional matchmaking. I won't judge the content until release but many of my friends and fellow players were surprised and disappointed as well. Sometimes when friends are not online it's simple and enjoyable to be quickly and efficiently matchmade. Leaving that out in a PvP activity is very surprising to me. Especially from a business standpoint. Getting every possible player into every activity might keep more players playing. I'll be watching the Prison of elders stream and be very curious about any Optional matchmaking discussions you announce there as well. Thank you all for very a fun product and I continue to enjoy the game. With or without friends. And thank you for listening to players. I'm very excited for upcoming changes and Destiny's future. Keep up all the amazing work and stay safe fellow guardians. Edit: holy cow top trending post. That's awesome guys. Thanks for all the support. And if you hate me and my ideas, well thanks for telling me that too.

 • No matchmaking system is an outdated idea. Thinking about pulling out my computer, hoping to find any post that doesn't demand you are this class or have this weapon or be this level, gives me plenty of time to decide to just not turn the game on and do something else. I haven't run a raid in months because all I can think about is typing in 6 gamertag having 4 join. Waiting another 20 min for 2 more. Then starting the raid and having 3 leave after 10 min. Sounds like the least entertaining time of my life. At least if there was matchmaking and people leave I don't have to waste more time by trying to dig out more names and repeating the process. People who have set groups of massive amounts of people have no argument in this because you have your six people so you would never touch the matchmaking system, therefore it effects you in no way. Trials of Osiris doesn't sound like a fun game mode to me anyway but to not be able to jump in and play is aggravating. I'm hoping that Prison of Elders doesn't also forgo a matchmaking system so at least allow solo, or teams of two to play. If it does I have no reason to buy this expansion. There is no way this reaction is what bungie wants.
