Kill counts incorrect.

Hi. I have repeated issues where the kill counts at the end of a raid/strike/crucible/etc are not accurate for me. At first we (my clan/fireteam) used to joke about it (coz I am a player with modest ability) but then my fireteam/clan did an experiment where I shot a certain number of enemy and killed them with no assistance and I didn't get the kills counted. We did this because it was just happening all of the time, even as I was improving and getting more and more headshot kills. I have also headshot someone in Crucible (several times), they have gone down, but no score is reported on the screen for the kill, or even for an assist. Of these times there were several where there wasn’t any way it could have been anyone else shooting them. Is this a recognised error? if so, any fix?

  • I know this post is over 3 years old, but I'd like to add my two cents. I was dropped into a strike when it was half over. I died four times (ill-prepared) and got credit for 49 kills. No way did I kill this many NPCs! The arithmetic must be bollixed, because the more times you die, the higher your credited kills, even if you did not kill that many enemies before dying (again). Unless your team does a total wipe, the number of NPCs in an event is fixed. Counting the time spent dead means that your kills per second should be going down, not up. So, my advice to the OP is to just die more often, and Bungie will credit you with phantom kills. Since the game is played over a network, it could be that the OP has the longest ping time, and his shots are not being registered correctly with Bungie's server. This means that your shot, though on target, did not arrive in time. Or, it got lost in the mail.
