Faction vendor improvement

Good idea, this could work

39

Bad idea. This will never work. (Explain why)

2

Needs a little tweaking, but overall a good idea

20

Needs a lot of tweaking, but I see it working.

The players who see new monarchy, dead orbit, and future war cult items but exclusively play pve could be able to purchase gear using vanguard marks, ans well as crucible marks, and reputation is already gainable through vanguard bounties and missions. The items can still be purchased with both types of mark as an 'either 150 vanguard marks, or 150 crucible marks' concept. Or give each faction their own marks, (FWC marks, new monarchy marks, and dead orbit marks) and those could be earned instead of vanguard marks by wearing a faction class item, the same way rep gain can be substituted. Also, each faction could have their own six pve missions, and six pvp missions that reward faction rep, xp, and marks. Personally, I prefer this idea greatly. I would like you to explain for whatever you vote, but I really want you to explain if you don't think this is a good idea, so I can receive open minded constructive criticism. Pointless hate, however, will be ignored. Also, I keep bumping this myself because I want this to get as many votes out of my own curiosity, to see how many agree. Edit: I just had a thought, this could probably increase endgame activity DRASTICALLY. And player variety DRASTICALLY.

  • I just recently realized how much variety this would give to pve only players of the game. It would allow pveonly players and pvp only players to access the same amount of weapons from the tower as each other. Even more so as they are making the faction vendor weapons have different shapes, that look totally badass. Again, faction vendors only, so pve only players will never get to see those epic looking weapons in their own hands, unless they want to hate destiny for quite a while and play crucible. Instead they are left with the vanguard weapons, even if they don't like the stats. It's like bungie punishes pve players three times, and gifts them once, whereas pvp only players get punished once (and it is not much of a punishment) and get gifted three times. Players who play both, I believe they deserve to be gifted four times and not punished at all. But the pve and pvp players deserve an equal amount of vendors. In house of wolves, the vendors including previous vendors (excluding Eris since she sells barely anything of value or worth my time) will be (I'm not going to state their names. Just who they are vendors for. Vanguard and crucible vendors with one armor and one weapon vendor will count as one. Xur will not be included. Only vendors who sell armor and weapons of legendary value will be included.) Future war cult: pvp New monarchy: pvp Dead orbit: pvp Iron banner: pvp Crucible: pvp Trials of Osiris: pvp Prison of elders: pve The queen's wrath: pve Vanguard: pve That's weird. There are/will be nine vendors who sell legendary weapons and armor. If this game allows all players to choose their own path, why does it seem the game clearly favors pvp players? With all due respect bungie, we didn't just come for the pvp. I see this as far better: Dead orbit: pvp and pve New monarchy: pvp and pve Future war cult: pvp and pve Iron banner: pvp Crucible: pvp Trials of Osiris: pvp Vanguard: pve Prison of elders: pve Queen's wrath: pve ( this change would exclude Osiris, iron banner, and crucible vendors, because I understand why they are pvp only (they organize pvp only activities and nothing else, whereas the faction vendors already have patrol missions (which you gain nothing from them for doing) need resources, and it is mentioned in many areas that they perform activities that the vanguard performs as well, such as removing targets, killing enemies, taking positions, and retrieving golden age information, which the vanguard does on a larger scale as of right now, but I think we can enlarge that scale to be equivalent to the vanguard. It could be explained as "a new treaty allowed each faction to have equal power to the vanguard. However, they agreed to only use the crucible for debating. If a faction goes to war with another faction, or declare war with any other faction, they, and all their followers will be exiled." See what I mean? It's isn't like it is impossible to do without breaking the game's logic, in fact, I think this FOLLOWS the game's logic, which is why I support this idea.)

  • I agree. I've always thought this. I've started to try and max out the Crucible marks just so i can buy the faction gear when HoW drops. It's a pain but it forced me to like PVP. Regardless, I do find it silly. If they're worried about the grind being 'too easy' then they should just make it cost more Vanguard marks or something.

      • Every time you vote, try leaving a reply. It can be anything. A bump, an explanation, I will read it. If it is mindless hatred however, then may read it, but will not take head to it. Mindless hatred and constructive criticism are worlds apart.

      • I never did understand why factions were exclusive to crucible marks even though they carry merit in PVE instancing.

I would like to see some faction missions that need a faction level to unlock. Like if you have shown loyalty to FWC (hit lv3) an all new mission will open up on Mars or something, but all fire team members need to have a FWC item on to play. Or something like that. New content through factions
