I seriously think that RNG is tied to things you have equipped like armour, weapons, emblems, ship, class items, shaders, etc and the types of activities you are doing. If you always do the same activities with the same gear equipped, and still haven't got the item that you wany, I suggest changing some things up and see what happens.

I think it is tied to what you have, maybe not equipped though. You can tell it's not really random though. I have friends who went months with nothing, then all of a sudden they drop like crazy, it's like once they do drop, you get them for real RNG....if that makes sense? The same guy has done 50+ crotas and cant get a hunger. I got a ton of hungers, my first 2 crotas dropped them, but after 1300 hours and taking nearly every attempt at exotics each week, I cant get a ghorn.
