The movie Mulan perpetuates the oppression of women.
Speaking her mind is seen as abnormal behaviour and is met with rebuke by the oppressive patriarch of the family unit.
Serving in her country's military is cause for execution and is seen as a dishonour on the army.
The lizard guardian makes sex jokes about seeing through the title character's clothes. An obvious objectification of the female body.
Not getting married and oppressed by a male spouse is also seen as an embarrassment.
Even the songs are an obvious allusion to the oppression of women and the perpetuation of the patriarchy.
