Yea. Only idiots make satire posts. They are the plague of the forums. Along with people who actually get mad about what Xur sells.

If it is actual satire and not sarcasm or verbal irony then it is okay. The Onion is a good source of vitamin S(atire)

Satire is used to make the people described, i.e. people who think that buying things from Xur is the most horrible thing you could do EVER, see that they're being completely stupid or to just make them look idiotic.
