What I do hope is rewards being given in a "smart" way. Only after reaching a certain wave, the chances for rare rewards appear. Playing really well makes you reach the potential legendary drops. Exotics can drop after you reach the 10th set just to say, you have to gain some Arena experience for this. With weekly burns (like NF), you also need to be in position of the right weapons. And of course good teamwork. Only a mix of all these things, experience, right weapons for burns and teamwork, can you reach the point of potential exotics. Another way to make exotics more accessible would be to have random "bonus" waves. Maybe some ultra shank appears once in a while out of nowhere and you have 10 seconds to kill it, or else it disappears. This is harder then it sounds, because you are fighting tons of enemies (so you have to see the shank and secondly be able to kill the shank). But please, don't make rewards totally random and give players that barely pas one wave exotics. I want there to be a reason you should be proud of how far you made it in Arena. Leaderboards, or a performance-driven reward system like described above (with a bit of luck, rare and random bonus rounds).

 • Do you think the randomness could work with a loot pool? Say the further you get. The more items from the pool you take, while never getting the same item twice per run? Even so, there should be drops for Shards and Energies as well. Say for 7 rounds, 3 drops for shards/energies, 3 for class items, and 1 for weapon? But randomly given out (so like, round 1 s/e, 2 armor, 3 armour, 4 weapon, 5 armour, 6 s/e, 7 s/e)

 • Yeah there should be some Destiny randomness, including some rewards that make you cry, like shards and energy's. As long as being good actually gets rewards in a way, I'm ok with it. Let's say you and two others form a team. After 2 weeks your team is legend, reaching incredible far parts of the Arena. People know in some way that you and your teammates are really good at it. A unique shader per 3 sets, the actual wave number displayed somewhere? Imagine getting that insane shader you get after set 15 (5 waves x 3 rounds x 15 sets = 225 waves survived). Now Glowhoo that anybody gets after completing CE on hard. That only shows X amount of people have at least an X amount of skill. It doesn't show the differences between people. Everybody wants to show off, let's be honest. This could all be worthless if everybody can reach wave 300 of The Arena. There has to be a good amount of challenge, but it also needs to be FUN challenge. A hard job, but I trust Bungie has a great mode ready for us if it is replacing a new raid.
