Mass panic over... $15 bucks. Lmfao

2 breakfast sandwiches - $8 bucks Redbull $3.30 Girls coffee $2 Around $4 bucks in gas driving to work. Before 9 am i spent $17.30 by default. This is automatic. By the days end I'll be minimum $35 in. Yet people are complaining they got a bare minimum of 50 hours of entertainment (it will be way more) for $15 bucks? You feel you were OWED a raid? No. I'm sorry to break the news to you, but you aren't OWED anything. In the game, or in life. Take you're imaginary girlfriend to see a movie, two tickets are $25+ all day...for an hour and a half of entertainment There's a new mode, that every single one of you whining, babbling, cry babies are completely dismissing before you even know what it is. How bout you shut the -blam!- up, man up, grab your balls and stop being such spoiled little self entitled muts to society. EDIT. Alot of comment are pouring in with people saying things like "if I ordered a steak and potatoes, but got no steak I'd be pissed". Of course I would, because I ORDERED that. Video games are not -blam!-ing made a la carte. They are made by companies, pre determined, and we buy them. We don't customize them before purchase. EDIT 2. Did anyone stop to think maybe bungie is delaying the raid so people don't jump head first into it, and actually get to enjoy all the new, hard worked content first? Just a thought. EDIT 3 my favorite one of all. This thread generated a ton of response, way more than I expected. What I like is that the vast majority of the responses are level headed people who agree. There is hope. FINAL EDIT - I see a lot people turning this into my "spending habits are flawed" if I knew what I was doing with money I wouldn't buy the game type of thread. I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but spending habits and budgeting are RELATIVE to what you earn. Video games like any other leisure are an EARNED RIGHT. I'm 31 now, and from 18 to about 26 I didn't even own a gaming console. Growing up when I lived home with mommy and daddy and did, because it didn't matter. Once I got priorities in order,in put games down for almost 8 years. Now at 31, I've set myself up with a years of hard work that I can sit back and enjoy my leisures comfortably. If i gamed as much in my 20's as I've been in the past 3 months I probably would have lost my job eventually. $30 a day on misc items may be a lot to some people, and I respect that, nor do I look down on you for it. I happen to do well for myself, not because of luck or having things handed to me...but because I busted my ass and made tons of sacrafices. So no, my 20 to 30 bucks daily wasn't the point of this thread. The point was if you had any respect for work, man hours, and a dollar, you'd understand that 15-20 bucks for the content that you're getting is WELL WORTH IT. Don't give "bungie promised me" bs either. Don't be mad at bungie for believing an unofficial leak.

  • I mean, you could literally get a cardboard sign and stand on the side of the road and make $15 in about 30 minutes. I don't see what all the fuss is about, if you want to play the game, buy the -blam!-ing dlc. If not, go play something else. Easy as that.

The other day, I ran out of toilet paper after I took a dump. All I had on me was 3 $5 bills.
I used that money to buy some more toilet paper
When will you morons understand it's not about the price, it's about the principal. Certain gamers are tired of having to buy dlc with every game. Just increase the price to 80-100$ from start instead of claiming it's 60 for half the game then getting the rest 40$ later. You guys are making empty unrelated analogies, comparing physical life sustaining things to digital imaginary ones. Whether for entertainment or not, you wouldn't go to a movie theater pay 10$ then at the end pay another 5$ for the rest would you? Dlc are supposed to be expansions, not rips offs. Game devs have been abusing dlc for a few years now and it seems they're making it a requirement to play a complete -blam!-ing game. Nobody cares if you can afford to waste money at every whim. Most people are more selective with their spending. Money is an investment. .you buy gas to invest into your destination, you buy food to invest into your body, you buy entertainment to invest into your mental joy(hours played =/= joy).investments should not constantly require more investing. If you have to invest more money the return should be equal to the initial return. Meaning that if I go to the movies and watch a 2 hour movie, then if I want to watch the sequel, the sequel should be 2 hours as well. If I go to a restaurant and order a meal, and I'm asked to order another meal, the following meal should be just as good or fill me up just as much. If I buy a game for 60$ and buy dlc for damn near 40 $ the dlc should add a substantial amount of things close to the amount of content initially found on the original game. People owned/achieved(or could've owned) everything TDB had to offer within a week or two, unlike the initial launch of Destiny where people took weeks/months to get everything. They abuse the loot system to make u think content is more than what it is forcing you to play hours on end thinking you're getting your money's worth. It's a cheap yet effective gimmick, but still a gimmick nonetheless. Like I said nobody cares if you spend 20$ in a few hours on irrelevant things, telling people to get jobs is ignorant as -blam!-. Some people have minimum wage jobs where they make maybe 40-50$ a day IF they're fulltime, Before taxes. After they pay for food, gas, and living expenses they're probably left with 5$ leisure money if they spend right, so yes 20$ is enough to raise valid concern if it's overpriced you -blam!-ing super consumers.

        • Its not about the money. To me its about how this practice is common place in games nowadays and its ruining the gaming industry. Nearly every game that ships now is incomplete. They all require day 1 patches. On top of that to get the full experience of the game you are pretty much required to buy the DLC when it comes out. People that say "Stop being cheap" or "Get a job" are apart of the problem because they throw their money at these companies no matter what the DLC contains so there is no reason for these companies not to skimp on Downloadable content if people are willing to pay for it. The gaming community as a whole needs to start voting with their wallet as oppose to blindly buying season passes/DLC before the game comes out.

              • Well put, but probably falling on deaf ears I think. A lot of young kids on here not understanding anything you just said. I stopped thinking $15 was a lot of money for anything when I was, well, 15. A round of golf, $60 for 4 hours where in the end ur fed up and knackered. Destiny is great value. What about annual soccer games, people shell out $60 a year just to have the updated version and it's fine cuz it's considered a new game. Fact is if this game was boring they'd be out there paying for another game which would be more money than the DLC.

For me it has nothing to do with money. My issue is that Bungie and Activision are conducting a seemingly veiled pay-to-play business model. Again, I have no issues with money, it's the lack of content that is p!ssing me off. I've switched to Neverwinter, which is free2play but has pricy micro transactions for extras. I've already spent $150 buying extras... But you know what? The story has great depth and the variety of everything is amazing. People are pissed with Destiny because Bungie has failed to create value. There is no disappointment without expectation. Cost is never an issue when true value is present. With so many people pissed off... This is more than due to immaturity or lack of intelligence. Bottom line... Bungie has failed to live up to the legend they became with Halo.

                    • Oh my God. The butthurt in here. So many tears. Bounty Completed. If you like the game, buy the DLC. Don't like the game, don't. I'm going to buy it, and every stinking one after it, because I'm a fan. I didn't play the beta. I didn't pay attention to the hype. I was at dinner with friends a couple of days before release and got the digital download at midnight on their recommendation. It hasn't disappointed me yet. None of you complainers speak for me, or the many like me. May the Leroy Jenkins be with you. Always.

                      • With you here. I work on a £1 an hour rule. If I buy a game for £56 and I get more the 56 hours of enjoyable game play out of it. Then I have had my moneys worth. Destiny has easily acheived this for me. So I'm happy.

I consider this game and the DLC so far a win-win. I don't think I've ever got so much out of so little. I paid $29 for the game and $26 I think for the DLC (when it was on sale via PS4). I must be approaching 300hrs and still have another DLC coming to me for that price. Last night's dinner and movie put me close to $85 for about 3hrs and that's not counting gas. Dinner sucked and the movie was meh at best. I may have to contact my lawyers.
