The weekly update talking about the least completed strikes seems to have missed the mark. Valus had the lowest nightfall completion because it had no burns. He doesn't take overly long to kill, it's just boring. Removing some of his health is not going to make people quit that strike any less.
A solution could have been to have a buff for each completed strike that stacks up to say 5. Each stack gives you a better chance for legendary/exotic items. This buff is lost each day or if you quit a strike, and it can be started up from 1 again. This would be a much better system to encourage people to not quit strikes, not making overly easy content more easy.
Edit:
It seems many people are thinking on the same lines. I'm at the point where I just don't see the worth of doing strikes anymore, regardless of how fast they go. Add to this how rare you get legendary engrams/exotics and it seems useless to grind them. Since legendary engrams often give ascendant materials or a useless legendary item, their drop rate should at LEAST be doubled after grinding a few strikes (maybe even a higher rate).
I think another solution would be a harder, repeatable strike. It's kind of a downer that most people out level the hardest strike by 5 or 6 light levels. It makes it extremely boring to just run through mobs that die in a shot or two. Make strikes on the level of the weekly heroic repeatable. A different single modifier each time, up to level 30 (or even 32!), and rewards to match this extra effort.
P.S.
I just want to say I love Destiny and I met many good people doing all LFG raids. It's just now it seems to be a two day a week game; Tuesday for raids and nightfalls, Wednesday for anything I missed. I'm burned out on the current activities for the rest of the time. I'd like it if there was a compelling reason to play the five other days of the week. Sure some will say play another game, and I do at times, but this is the feedback thread so it's just a way I think (and it seems others do too) to make this game even better.

I agree with everything in your post. I play once a week, mostly Friday. My wife and i do our daily, weekly, see what xur brought and a couple of ROC strikes and then its back to borderlands2. I really can't see this game going for ten years. I really would love to see it, but idk. Not looking too promising.
