Exotic Rewards, earn them or buy them from xur
Hey guys,
Now i dont care how much hate i get for saying this, but just hear me out ok.
I know everyone gets excited when they actually earn an exotic from Roc, Nightfall, Weekly/Daily or crucible, but what of those people that buy them from Xur, yes they had to earn the strange coins, but its unfair when someone earns IceBreaker from Nightfall or Raid and then their friend says "Oh yeah, i bought that a few mins ago from xur".
To be honest, i have only bought 3 items from Xur, Suros Regime, Patience & Time, Radiant Dance machines, but im considering to dismantle them so i can re-earn them.
If you have something to add to this, please speak up, but i just think Xur shouldn't be in the game or Should at least have his prices marked way higher.

This argument is dumb anyone who has been playing the game since it came out constantly is going to want to justify the fact that they have spend an enormous amount of time "earning" their gear. And anyone who plays the game casually is going to want to buy these items to have cool gear and hurry up the process. Also if it's in the game I don't know how you can criticize people who do it. Yes gear "earners" have more bragging rights but that's about it, you don't get to call out others.

The only weapons I've felt that I earned are xur ones or the bounty ones. I got Gjallarhorn from the nightfall yesterday and it felt more like I got luckier than my friends instead of I earned it.

4 RepliesI will get much hate with this but I THINK THIS IS A GREAT IDEA. ...You hate me yet community? I think you really should earn exotics instead of buying them. But for that to work, there actually NEEDS TO BE A WAY TO EARN THEM OTHER THAN LUCK. I have earned my Thorn in an exotic bounty and it felt really cool when I finished it and got my thorn and used it for the first time. This has to be accomplished with more exotics, but there are too many "luck" instances for this to work...even the exotic bounties are based on luck, because some people don´t get them at all. So yeah, let´s earn exotics I´m all for it. But first fix the broken RNG

RNG =/= earn ^ this means RNG does not equal earn. Winning the lottery doesn't mean you earned 300 million dollars, you won it. That's how the RNG works. You completed a task and was randomly awarded a prize, it just happened to be an exotic. *Slow clap* good job buddy.

Sorry but I don't get your logic. Strange coins also drop from nightfalls, so in your reasoning I shouldn't be able to use them to buy gear? It's a game not real life. I don't give a rats ass about how people get their gear, as long as I can get mine too.

I will do whatever it takes to get the gear I want. Who cares if xur sells, if it drops for you that's great too. I really don't understand the communities logic here. Ripping on people who buy from xur is a waste of breathe. That's why he shows up two days out of the week. How many e shards or e engrams have you all bought from xur? Let's be honest, he shows up for a reason. Get over it for christ sakes I bought my praxic fire from him. Should I just pass because he's selling it. Your all liars I don't believe you have never bought anything from xur. Let it go bro

Yes xur does feel cheap at times but think about this. I run sword for Crota 9/10 times. A lower level (30) died in the crystal room. I proceed to shove the sword up Crota's ass and I get 2 shard and the guy that was dead gets red death. I really really wanted that gun! I run the weeklies 3x an xur sells red death I purchase it. Now the question is... Who "earned" their red death?!?! Clearly I didn't earn i xurned it and that lvl 30 that was carried on hard mode was the true hero! #sarcasm

You say it isn't fair when someone buys it for strange coins, but you reference that yours drops from a nightfall. A couple nightfalls ago my reward was 11 strange coins. Which means I would have to play even more to get to the 17 required to buy ice breaker. In short, this means you technically did less work than I did to get this weapon, yet you feel you deserve it more? Why do you feel your nightfall experience is more worthy of receiving an ice breaker than mine is? The game simply provided us both different ways of acquiring the weapon. You just didn't have to work as hard for it.

"Unfair" and "earn" don't make sense to me.... this isn't a damn race. Why does anyone even care who gets what and where they get it from? By all means dude, delete your exotics and "earn" then back. I appreciate your honesty, but this is just getting ridiculous.

People have to earn strange coins, too. (Also, nobody "earns" their exotics. The loot is completely random.)

I think that it is great when people get exotics from crucible, strikes, engrams, etc... but as a big gamer, I know that there are people that can't grind for hours on end to get these items. Xur I think is a good solution for this, but that being said, I think that there should be items that you can only get exclusively from crucible, strikes, and engrams, so there is some reward for grinding.

I really don't care how anyone acquires a weapon/armour. I have been patiently waiting for Gjallahorn or Patience & Time to be mine through Raid, Nightfall, Weekly, Luck whatever, but in the meantime if Xur showed up with either of them I will happily buy them.

Xûr is a way for people who aren't lucky enough to get those weapons. It is still random, though. I don't think Bungie gives Xûr whatever the community "needs" most.

Probably feels unfair to the others in the same raid or strike that didn't receive an exotic. I believe many players are using "earned" wrong in this game. To each his own... just enjoy the game!
