  • Dark souls 2 softfs review Hi everyone I just want to say I picked up dark souls 2 remastered version the other day. I'm writing this because when I would google info on the game to figure out whether I really wanted it or not. No info would give me a real answer of what the game really is. All people would say is it's HARD, they would give story's about how you need another controller because out of frustration your going to break the one you have. So I'm here for all the people on the fence about buying the game to give them the answers I always wanted. Dark souls is it's own type of animal. That's why I was never able to get an answer. It's unlike any other game you have ever played really. One can not compare it because it is unique. There are piece here and there that might remind you of other games but all n all its it's own species. If I had to define dark souls then I would say it's a STAT BASED RPG. Im going to break it down into a couple of main key components. 1. It's all about the stats. Critical thinking on where to put skill points are the meat of the game. Putting skill points in various different skills will determine what type of player you are. Are you a bow n sword? Are you a tank with a two handed great sword? Or are you a wizard that is a beast with the dagger? The combinations n different types of play go on and on. This is just a one little example, the main stats like strength and dexterity get broken down in to smaller stats, not only that but what type of armor your wearing and other buffs. This is what makes replay ability so great in this game, and oh god don't get me started with pvp because your going to need a whole other character just for that......if you choose too... 2. Execution. In dark souls no matter what type of player you are you are going to have to use your thinking and resources to progress. Enemy's in darks souls are all conquered in different ways. The easiest foe will kill you if you give them a chance. You need to stop and think about how you want to combat the situation that's in front of you. There are many ways to progress in dark souls and it's all up the the player on how it's done. Call on friends to help beat a boss? Or take on him solo by learning his patterns of attack or weaknesses. Or do you need to go level up some more and come back, change your approach? It's all up to you. Dark souls never tells you what to do, it doesn't hold your hand. It's all up to the player to figure things out 3. Challenging. Notice I didn't say HARD. This game might be hard to some one that is a once n a while gamer, a person that just hops on call of duty to get a couple kills then sign off. I have tons of friends like this say just say f@&k dark souls I'm done. This is a game that's not for everyone, it's like comparing chess and checkers. So now that's out of the way let's talk about the challenge of dark souls. As stated before dark souls doesn't hold your hand or tell one what to do. In that aspect one needs to figure everything and all things out on ones own. All the items have a little bit of a description on what they do but it's up to you to dig deeper. Some items have secret effects. The world you'll be exploring are brimming with secret paths, illusionary walls, platform jumping short cuts, it's all up to you to figure it out. Figuring out the puzzle that is dark souls is another huge aspect of the game, and very fun aspect at that. I can go on explaining dark souls but I covered what I think are the major aspect of the game. Those aspects should give you enough of an idea of whether or not you should buy it. All I have to say is dark souls is one of the best games I've ever played 10/10 in my book, love it!!!!
