Probably ask them why they're here, and assuming they respond reasonably attempt to talk them into leaving my home. However, if they make any sudden movements towards me, i'd shout to wake up my parents (and probably the neighbors), while simultaneously throwing my covers over them in hope it'll keep them busy long enough for me to run past them and escape.

Never been in a situation where I had to, but it could provide a distraction long enough to either allow me to get around them and run, throw the first punch, or grab one of the weapons I keep beside my bed to use against them. I'm not a violent person, so ideally i'd take the first route. Even if it's only a brief few seconds of extra time, in a hostile situation every moment counts. So despite how childish it may seem, it's not about stopping the aggressor entirely, it's about buying enough time to gain at least the slightest advantage over them. If it achieves that end, it "works" as you put it.

  • xD ok point taken but I doubt throwing your covers would even make it that far I think would just grab the closest most hard thing I could find and beam it at them

  • Ah, but that's assuming you'd have enough time to reach it. It doesn't take long for someone to get you if they're a mere few feet from you. Putting something in the way at least might hinder their movement, but I guess it depends what you sleep with, I think my covers altogether would have enough weight to at least slow 'em. And I keep a hunting knife by my bed, sometimes under my pillow. I'd have something to use if I needed to. lol
