I'll give you two questions. You only really need to answer one of them. 1. What is Cupid's Knife and on which colony was it invented? 2. Who was Corporal Locklear and how did he die? Bonus points if you can tell me why he did what he did.

2. Locklear died blowing up the slip space shard and he blew it up because he was told the female pilot he fancied died for it (as in the Covie that attacked and killed her doing so because they wanted the shard)

Without a doubt. It would be nice to see a few characters from the books and extended canon be shown in Halo 5 and the subsequent books as SPARTAN IVs.
