It's blanket Brit slang for [b]all[/b] Americans. We don't really care whether you identify as "Yankee" or not, from us it's a mildly insulting term of endearment. Your rejection of it is offensive. Embrace it, just like the Taffs, the Micks, the Jocks, the Sasenachs and the Pommes embrace their derogatory nicknames for each other.
