Probably not the only reason. But admit it; the chance of getting loot does keep you playing for a large part right?

No argument there! The game [i]is[/i] a loot race made bitter and longer by the RNG. But at this point, I can really say I just [i]love[/i] that butter-smooth gameplay that makes most other shooters feel airy and non-responsive!
