It's dramatic irony when the audience knows something the characters don't, right?
Just think it's funny how the people of the Halo universe are just starting to uncover information that fans have known since The Fall of Reach. It's oddly satisfying.
Anyway, in very excited to see where this winds up going, and I like the format!

Technically there is Easter egg in the very first mission of Halo:CE that kind of opens the possibility of a rogue Master Chief.

Where?

MEGG.

If you shoot Keyes in the head aboard the bridge of the Autum in the first mission, Cortana says something along the lines of "Chief has gone rampant, take him down boys!" Or something like that. Then Sgt Johnson and some Marines flood the room to kill you I think.

I have no comment on the possibility of rogue master chief. I'm just talking about the shadowy Spartan II program in general. Everyone in-universe is starting to discover that their heroes have strange pasts full of abduction and cloning, while those of us who are actually real people and who read the books just nod our heads and laugh
