I wouldn't be closed to that idea it makes more sense than "a star went bang and life came from lifeless things on its own."

A star? What the hell! That isn't how it happened you idiot. It want a star, it was a singularity. And it didn't go BANG! It expanded, becoming the universe we know today. If you actually read up on these things and knew what you were talking about, you'd understand.
