Um. A scientific "theory" has been observed and documented to follow it's description or hypothesis. You know, like the Theory of Relativity. You know that ones observably true at least don't you? Don't get confused over the use of the word theory. Before theory comes study and observation. Before that comes the idea. Your use of the word theory should be replaced with the word idea.
