To all those who know Jesus, arguing this post is pointless. Those against the LORD either know nothing about the bible or won't acknowledge it as evidence for creationism. To those who don't know Jesus, you should meet him. Then, you should take a better look at what he said happened. You may find that a lot about the Big Bang theory actually proves Him right. Then we can seriously talk about evolution.

 • Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're saying that evolution and the big bang and so on are just what God used to create everything? Pretty interesting way to look at things actually.

 • No, I'm not saying both Big Bang and evolution support God. God said let there be light and it was so. Don't you think a big bang would probably be a flash of light? I'm not pushing back the goal posts. I'm stating that science is trying prove the existence of a God wrong and they are actually proving Him right. Evolution however, doesn't have anything to do with creationism.

 • Sure a big bang would produce light. But no one was alive at that time and no one sure as hell heard god say that. Science doesn't actually try to prove god doesn't exist, but many findings convince people there is none. Science is about understanding the world and universe around us.

 • That's because they're pushing the goal posts back because they know they're wrong

 • I disagree I probably know the bible better then most Christians... A huge reason why I don't buy into it. However I'm glad you are trying to talk some sense to your fellow Christians. Honestly doing what they are doing does nothing but make your religion look bad. I like to share a quote from St. Augustine quite frequently when dealing with christians. Saint Augustine (A.D. 354-430) in his work The Literal Meaning of Genesis (De Genesi ad litteram libri duodecim) provided excellent advice for all Christians who are faced with the task of interpreting Scripture in the light of scientific knowledge. This translation is by J. H. Taylor in Ancient Christian Writers, Newman Press, 1982, volume 41. Usually, even a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other elements of this world, about the motion and orbit of the stars and even their size and relative positions, about the predictable eclipses of the sun and moon, the cycles of the years and the seasons, about the kinds of animals, shrubs, stones, and so forth, and this knowledge he hold to as being certain from reason and experience. Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking nonsense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn. The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men. If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods and on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of Holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books. For then, to defend their utterly foolish and obviously untrue statements, they will try to call upon Holy Scripture for proof and even recite from memory many passages which they think support their position, although they understand neither what they say nor the things about which they make assertion. [1 Timothy 1.7]

 • A book is evidence for creation? It's a -blam!-ing fiction book written by some junkie, not evidence for "God creating species."

 • Jesus doesn't say anything about astrophysics. Looking to the bible for science is like looking to a poet for engineering advice.

 • Why don't you ask him why he hasn't shown himself to me? Im waiting for your answer.

 • He doesn't HAVE to show himself to you through anything other than what he already has given us. He gave us the Bible so that we could read and believe. He's also not at your beck and call. Saying "God show yourself to me damnit or i wont believe in you!" Is approaching faith at the wrong angle. If you were serious about wanting to see God, and willing to accept that he may not appear in some Hollywood movie sort of way, you should try this: SINCERELY pray to Him asking for Him to open your eyes to His grace and love. Simple as that.

 • It was kind off joke... Anyway, I have been a christian for over 3/4 of my life I know what it feels like. What you don't understand is that the feeling you have is NOT unique to christians. I get that feeling when I look up at the stars, some get it when they look into a microscope or with music. I have read the bible btw. As far as Im concerned its a book of fairy tails no offense. I became an atheist after reading the bible.
