Destiny DLC Idea: Revolution

Mission One: Preemptive Strike Mercury "Attack a Vex headquarters and discover and erupting civil war." Ghost informs the player that a mysterious, unknown communications channel has given him coordinates on Mercury, a planet heavily inhabited by Vex. He warns that it could be a trap, but the player decides to cautiously investigate. The coordinates lead to a Vex-esque stronghold, with a metallic gate guarding its entrance. It is a vast, irregular, geometric structure riddled with intricate and foreign technology along the inner and out edges. The stronghold itself is a midnight, sinister black with a nearly unnoticeable violet hue. The sky is over-encumbered by anomalous storm clouds. Much like the Vex structure, the clouds are an ominous, aphotic violet with lightning coursing through them like veins. Severed remains of dismembered Vex are erratically distributed across the pitch-black ground. The player cautiously maneuvers around the eradicated machines. The metallic gate to the stronghold mysteriously disintegrates out of existence. A horde of Vex pours out of the building like water rushing down a rapid stream. However, these Vex are different than ones previously encountered. Their movements are completely bizarre and aberrant. Vex beforehand moved as one unit, but these Vex are erratic and unorganized. After the confused technological entities are hopelessly dispatched by the player, the Ghost expresses his wish to scan them. However, a female voice echoes from behind them, warning the Ghost not to do so. The player and the Ghost turn around, to witness the Exo Stranger's arrival. She states that if these Vex are scanned, a reverse reaction would be catalyzed which would destroy the Ghost. The Exo Stranger continues saying that these Vex are known as, "The Recreant". They have been liberated from the Vex Collective and have become individuals. Without providing much of an explanation, she then orders the player to assault the Vex Stronghold and destroy the Honored Vex, which are the typical murderous machines that the Guardians have come to know and love. Afterwards, she immediately disappears into thin air. The player is hesitant, but decides to enter the Vex structure, with little else but questions rather than answers. Why destroy the Honored Vex, but not the Recreant? After entering the malevolent-like building, the player comes across an unprecedented event in the Darkness, a civil war among one's own species. The Vex were fighting each other; Recreant against Honored. At this point, the player has three options which will affect the future. Option 1: Comply with the Exo Stranger and kill only the Honored Vex, but ignore the Recreant. Option 2: Do the exact opposite and kill only the Recreant, leaving the Honored unscathed. Or option 3: Just kill everything. The option chosen will have little immediate effect, but will greatly impact the future. After executing whichever option, the player continues through the stronghold. A large stairwell, pointing downwards at a precise 45 degree angle, descends into a dark abyss. The walls, similar to the entrance, are carelessly covered with a vast array of technology. There is an eerie, purple glow just barely illuminating the stairwell. When the player finally reaches the bottom, they enter yet another battleground. Pillars and spikes litter the ground as Vex duel above on long walkways, many falling to their inevitable fatalities. The player must maneuver through the maze of pillars and spikes, as well as avoiding falling machines. If a Vex lands on the player during this event, the player will be crushed and will die. Once the player has successfully evaded the plunging Vex and has navigated his or her way through the area, he or she will find only a large hole in the middle of the floor. Looking down, there is a luminous blue light emanating from the bottom. The player is about to back away from the hole, when suddenly, they are pushed in by an unseen force. They plummet headfirst into the unknown. (Alright, well, that's all I have so far. Tell me what you guys think. Too descriptive, not descriptive enough, too short, too long, etc. Also, tell me what you guys would like to see in the three other missions, the one Strike, and the Raid. And please, provide constructive criticism.)

  • Organize the text better, it's a pretty good story but hard to follow. Feel free to use the [quote]Quotation boxes to exclude and highlight certain text / Dialog.[/quote] Any access text could be organized using [spoiler]The spoiler box or [i](Some Italicized information in parentheses) [/i][/spoiler] Also, [b]Bolding[/b] paragraphs that are important helps a lot. The main problem for me is I usually read on Mobile, so the text is always a large bulk I have to scroll through.
