What is that egg?

It is dark and old looking. Smells faintly of spider blood. Has a damp air to it. It looks like it could hatch with proper care. If you can figure out how to hatch it, I will reveal what it is.

Care accepted. The egg is of a rare breed of nigh crawlers, it dwells in tunnels and in dark places. It is camouflaged at almost all times, except when eating. It will follow you around, but never reveal itself. If you are ever under attack, it will appear and dismember your foe.
