I used to have an old 300 dmg Venation III myself the base stats (impact, stability, reload) are some of the best base stats of any legendary hand cannon. It's ROF (rate of fire) is actually good in my opinion because it's right in the medium so that you'll have plenty of time to keep the cross-hairs where you need them to be for precision damage. The only thing that it somewhat lacks is a higher base range. Since the last patch hand cannons were tuned to where you start to see more of a damage drop off at further distances and things like having a higher base range or a perk to help make the range higher, perks like send-it. Outlaw is a great perk on any hand cannon! Once you start to get used to the hand cannon you're using and start to nail those precision shots with ease you'll love being an outlaw lol! Perfect Balance is nice to have don't get me wrong, but considering the Venation III's stock 8 bullets in the clip you might want to go with field scout to get the max of 13 in the clip and also be able to hold more ammo in reserve. This will help a little with the Crowd Control perk being more of a factor. Crowd Control is a decent perk in my opinion. It's better suited for Shotguns, Auto-Rifles and Fusion Rifles, depending on the charge rate, which are close to mid-range weapons. The bonus damage the perk gives the weapon in use only lasts for about 3 seconds if I'm not mistaken and Hand Cannons don't really get to see the full effect of the perk. If you had a perk like Rangefinder in the place of Crowd Control it would help make the Venation III more balanced and deadlier at range. =) Don't let anybody tell you that a weapon you feel comfortable with and love is something that sucks. Cause if it's good in your mind and you're good with it and what perks you have at your dispense then you'll do fine. Now if it had perks like Grenadier and Mulligan instead of Outlaw and Crowd control, then you'd have to believe anyone that told you it was a horrible roll on a weapon lol!
