Just got A REALLY GOOD Hand Cannon- From a RARE Engram!
So I was in the tower a couple of minutes ago to turn in some night bounties. I go to Cryptarch because I had picked up a rare primary engram. I decide to quickly decode it and dismantle for the parts. To my surprise, RNG gives me a VENATION III with the following perks
- Outlaw
- Perfect Balance, Single Point Sling, Field Scout
- Crowd Control
I feel like really lucky right now! Thanks RNG for cutting me a break. What perk do you guys recommend? Anyone else get anything get something really good from a rare engram lately?
EDIT: Got rid of "THE BEST" because everybody going on about Hawkmoon. Wish I had one ;(

Edited by CptCapitalism69: 3/12/2015 1:01:26 PMMy venation 3 has outlaw, luck in the chamber, and range finder. I love running strikes with that thing. Hits like a truck at scout rifle ranges. If I empty my clip into a major luck in the chamber pretty much guarantees that thing is going to die.

I got the venation III from a rare engram as well except i got explosive rounds, high caliber rounds, outlaw, and feeding frenzy. You should take a look at mine. its just as good as yours in my opinion, with 2 reload perks it might be better. I got extremely lucky with this one.

If you are a skilled player, Single Point Sling is definitely the way to go. Venation is a slow RoF higher impact hand cannon, so you do not need perfect balance. Outlaw means that you will be reloading extremely quick after precision kills, so you really do not need more ammo. If you find yourself running out of reserve ammo, then you can use field scout if need be - but it is never a problem for me. Disclaimer: I am one of those rare people who uses single point sling on my Fatebringer... it's much more useful in capable hands.

Dude disregard the haters n hawk moon lovers. I'm on xbone so wouldn't know about hawk moon. But aside from that it is my favorite to use. Spray n play (better than crowd control faster reload n doesn't require precision shits) explosive rounds n mulligan. The mulligan could be better. But the venationIII is sweet. Handles better than any other hc I have had. (TLW fatebringer woc n several others) the impact is awesome. The rate of fire is slower than some but it matches the stability perfectly to just squeeze of precision shot after shot. Only thing could be better is if it had elemental damage

I got venation a few weeks ago but not with good perks. The gun doesn't feel as good as the 1969 for whatever reason. It sits in my vault because I collect HC. looks sweet though

Not bad...but Hawkmoon is the ONLY handcannon I run from. I'm outgunning Thorn users from range with TLW...too many scrubs. Now when I hear a Hawkmoon, I run, find a corner, go invisible and pray it doesn't come my way.

3 RepliesI have a Red Hand IX with Hipfire, Grenadier, Armor Piercing, and Explosive Rounds. If Hipfire were Crowd Control, it'd be pretty close to perfect, if it also got some better sight choices.
