  • Yeah but everything written in the bible is first hand eye witness accounts and can be backed up by historical documentation .... Not to mention that the people involved in it can be back up in documentation along with numerous written accounts of others from the time. Not to mention that archaeological diggings have proven things to be true plus are still being discovered now and will be over there .... Plus things for told in the bible have come true in the past and are unfolding before our eyes in the Middle East. You just have to know what your looking for and open your eyes instead of just blowing it off as coincidence. The bible has YET to be proven wrong in 2000 years nor has anything been proven false in it. And is the oldest best selling reprint book and will continue to be because it's the truth. So yeah I'll continue to believe the bible and use it as evidence and trust in its teachings.

Actually all the stuff about Jesus' was written second hand. And all the bible stories aren't written by the people that are in them. Adam didn't write genesis, moses didn't transcribe the flood story, etc. So no its not firsthand witness accounts. In fact, none of it is. And lots of stuff in the bible is clearly false, and has been proven false. Just because the religious community rejects that doesn't mean anything. Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. To even write that means you don't understand what stars are.

  • Really .... Can I have an example? Because it would be widely posted and could be found .... And I didn't say genesis was written by Adam, and the ark was written by noah. The books in the bible were written by people obviously from letters and documentation of first hand accounts of the men and woman that walked with jesus and who were chosen by God to get the message told.

  • Then the bible isn't written first hand. Its written second hand. As you just claimed. Not only that, there is no historical evidence outside of claims in the bible, of who actually wrote many of the books of the bible. There are portions that are confirmed as having the author claimed, but there's more mystery than fact. Every account of Jesus that is used as credit for his existence, is credited to heresay from people who lived long after the time of Jesus. Also there is no mention of jesus in the well documented execution records of the time of Pontius Pilate the roman ruler who supposedly killed put him on the cross. So taking the bible as a evidence, is questionable at best.

  • Lol there are many documents from others .... Not just the disciples and prophets naming/showing and backing up what happened in the bible. Not to mention the things being discovered in the Middle East, plus the truth and prophecy that is being shown over there. Don't be blind open your eyes .... Things that are happening over there have been said would happen over 2000 years ago in the bible ..... Buuuuttttt lets just chalk that up to coincidence right?

  • Things? Wow so impressive. And who would've thought that a land that's been contested for almost all of human history would still be contested. So surprising. Any other magical prophecies? Also heresay accounts are considered evidence now?

  • It's contested just like it was in the bible .... Exactly what the bible says ... It's all magical and fairy tales to those that chose to not follow God .... Laugh all you like but it won't change anything about the truth. I can't and am not trying to force you or anyone to believe btw. Im just stating my opinion.

  • So thats the only great prophecy in the bible that's come true? If we wanna base validity on prophecy then Christianity is a little behind.

  • No I just stated one thing ..... Go read it dude. It amazes me how many people try and discredit the bible have never even opened it. Read the whole thing. And yeah you can say I don't have time to read a fairy tail like everyone else has said .... If you haven't taken the time to read it then you can't disprove anything.

  • Actually I've read the whole thing, several times. I was a Christian for 15 years. If you understand "have faith" isn't an answer, then you'll see the bible for what it is.

  • The bible is the word of God written so that we can know the truth. Sorry to hear you aren't walking with the Lord anymore. Makes me sad to know you turned away from him. May I ask what caused this? ( you don't have to answer ) you could pm if you want.

  • I realized what faith is. I saw all the illogical fallacies. I saw how all the different religions all claim that their religion is the true religion. I took a step back and examined it with the same scrutiny you would use to look at any of the other religions like Scientology. Basically I woke up.

  • How do you prove God exists? Why would god put all these terrible things on our planet? You can't deny evolution, there is evidence it happened. How can you disprove it? Religion on the hand can be disproved. Have you ever seen this god you guys worship? Have you ever spoke to him? I don't think you have,

God didn't create sin, nor does he create or do these terrible things. These are all made up and created by man in his own attempt to rule his own life separated from God. God hates sin and is good and therefore cannot be part of evil. All things bad on earth happen because of mans sin in his heart. God allows these things to happen so that we can step back and see the without him this is what will happen, without him we are lost and ultimately will destroy ourselves. The more and more we push God out of our society the worse it will get, just look at Sodom and Gomorrah .... ( which they have uncovered over in the Middle East and shows signs of exactly what happened in the bible ) man separated from God will destroy himself and create his own evil and sin. NOT GOD. Yes I do see my God every time I look around, his creation is EVERYWHERE, and i do speak to God .... Everyday in prayer and he speaks to me as well, it's called the Holy Spirit you just have to listen and have faith that God is in control. And like I said in another post show me an example where it has been disproved. Im sure it's an atheist ..... But it hasn't happened in over 2000 years so sorry. The translations change but the message stays the same.

  • Would a truly loving god do that to what he created? Why would he let this continue? Just so he could get a point across? Isn't helping people part of Christianity, so why doesn't he help us Settle our differences instead of just turning his back on us?

  • He doesn't turn his back on us, he turns his back on sin .... And we have pushed him and tried to run our lives so much that he is patiently waiting for us to turn back to him, he allows these things to happen ( like he has throughout the bible ) so that man ( his creation ) to stop relying on himself to save himself because he can't! We turn to sin naturally .... We are greedy and prideful as human beings as man so we try and do things our way which is the wrong way. If you read in the bible God is hurt by all this, he is sad .... But he is a just God .... Everything happens for a reason ..... He can use the death of a person to save 10-15 people. His plan of salvation is there if we just chose to accept it. He doesn't want to force us to love and follow him, it's our free will choice and he allows us to make that decision.

  • How do you know he wants this stuff? Have you talked to him about this? But some people didnt turn their backs on him. They believe in him so much, that they go to war with other nations to prove their religion is better. How did god handle this? Was he flattered? Does he like all the negative attention it got him?

It's in the bible .... Exactly what God wants is in there .... But, as man we can't obtain perfection and that is why Jesus died for us ... To be the mediator between us and God. And man will go to war for his own purposes .... Going to war to prove your religion is better is a stupid reason. God doesn't need us to do anything for him. He uses man to glorify himself through us.

  • We don't chose .... We didn't write the bible, it's been laid out for over 2000 years and is coming true today as we speak read and watch over in the Middle East. Check on stuff being discovered over there .... You guys are so closed minded you won't and don't want to see it.
