Is it Possible to Form an Opinion of Bungie.Next This Soon??

One of the strengths of Bungie is the commitment they have to their fans and this is illustrated by the home they create for fans to peruse vast amounts of game stats and enabling fans to interact with one another. It is a given that Bungie.Next will have a significant role to play when the next ip, Destiny is released this year. While we all have ideas and thoughts of what role BNext will play in Destiny (stats, bartering for in-game goods, organizing guilds, etc) it is not really possible to know to what extent. Since this is the case, is it really possible to form an informed opinion of BNext being that we don't really know it's capabilities related to the Bungie's next game? Your thoughts?

  • Of course it is. It should stand on its own, not a future reliance on Destiny integration.

  • Everybody should have an opinion by now. I just don't think people should rage quit so easily.

  • Opinion is, like Hylebos said, something you naturally form about anything new. And that opinion will, or will not, change over time. Personally, I really had a trouble seeing anything good about Bungie.next at first. Then I found the script that changes the white forum background to black and calmed down. This is definitely something that will take time to get used to, and I'm sure it has its flaws. I still think, and will probably always think, that only having the hash tags is bit of a mess. But having used the traditional forum format for years, that's something to be expected.

  • People's overraction never ceases to amaze me. They will give up on things so fast.

    • I feel that the web-team is currently looking for their baseline. They need to know what staple features that we like/dislike. From there, they will build up features relevant to their new game universe. I'm talking things such as private group features, following thread discussions, the hashtag system etc. All of the features we're giving feedback on right now have nothing to do with their next game. Just functionality and navigation of bungie.net. I believe it's very possible to form an opinion and initial thoughts about these new features.

    • Of course it's possible to form an opinion of Bungie.next this soon. If you haven't formed an opinion of it yet, then you're doing something wrong. Now, that isn't to say that the opinion has to be ironclad, or that you should make hasty decisions based off that opinion, but trying something new and saying "You know what? I really don't like this" isn't wrong in the slightest. Feedback is Feedback.

    • I was distraught the first day. I'm warming up to it though. Though there is always room for improvement. I'll become acclimated to whatever is thrown my way.

      • The purpose of us being in this BETA is to give feedback and suggestions. Doing this, Bungie is prepping to fully release Bungie.next for Destiny, and they won't have to listen to complaints as much if they had just said, "This is the new Bungie.net. Have fun."

      • They put out the beta SO we could form an opinion and give suggestions.

I can have an initial impression, but certainly I don't have an opinion. At least not an informed one, at least not yet. With all of my digging and exploring, I see that I still have more to go, more to discover, more to learn, and then after seeing it, figuring out how it all works and relates... maybe then I will begin to form an opinion. But not until then. My impressions is, "Holy crap, you guys really DID put everything on the table. Nothing was sacred, everything needed to be examined and reconsidered, and that much is clear." So, since they took the time and put in the effort to try to "clean slate and knowing what we know" as opposed to "we can't change this, let's just bolt onto it"... well, they deserve an honest and informed opinion in my mind. I will give them one, when I am finished looking and thinking.
