Your mother is so overweight, that we are all concerned for her health. As a licensed physician, I would recommend that she limit her daily calorie intake. It is very important that she lower her daily intake to at least a good 2000 calories on average. Seeing as how she takes in effectively triple on a daily basis, it is a good idea to gradually lower her intake. I would recommend a 500 calorie drop every week, in order for your mother to get well. Her blood sugar is abnormally high, she has been taking in so much sugar that I find it hard to believe that she hasn't been afflicted with Type 2 Diabetes. Here is a list of health problems related to obesity:
Heart disease and stroke. High blood pressure. Diabetes. Cancer. Gallbladder disease and gallstones. Osteoarthritis. Gout. Breathing problems, such as sleep apnea (when a person stops breathing for a short episodes during sleep) and asthma.
As you can see, there are some very serious conditions linked to obesity. Some of these problems are already present in your mother, but it will only get worse the longer she is overweight. In most cases, even a modest weight loss of 10 to 20 pounds can bring significant health improvements, such as lowering one's blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Unfortunately, those numbers are proportional to a person's weight, and your mother's weight is not proportional to just 10 -20 lbs. I would suggest a loss of about 40-50 lbs in weight in order for your mother to see improvements in her asthma, gout, blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate, and her numerous joint problems. As her doctor, I'll prescribe to her a dietary pill. I would suggest she go on a diet. Have her eat more fruits and vegetables, and stay away from any sort of fast foods. If she must get some, please have her limit it to only once or twice a week.Drink more water, refrain from sodas, colas, and other high sugar drinks. Exercise is not a bad idea either; I wouldn't suggest she do any serious exercise, as this might make her heart rate skyrocket to dangerous levels, and then there would be even worse repercussions. Just walk for 20 minutes a day, and do some stretching to promote a flow of blood. It is important you act immediately, or you may lose your mother. Please contact me if you need any more information, or if something happens. Regards, Your doctor
