I had an Atari 2600 in the house, but my elder half-siblings played it more than I did.
I can't remember if the SMS or the NES was the first system I really [i]mine[/i]. I remember that I had a SMS at home and there was a NES at my grandma's house. My friends always gave me crap for having a SMS.
Honestly I think the SMS was a better console, but most of the games were pretty lame.
Being born in the '70s and growing up in the '80s, I was initially more interested in physical toys than video games until I was about 10 or so. That and dirt, dirt was freaking awesome. It was everywhere and free.
