Rebalance Auto Rifles after 1.1.1 PVE Side, Need Support Guardians

Yes give the "2.5"% back

Fine how they are now

1609

Buff them by half of the nerf they received

2353

85% think that Auto's need a buff, bungie hasn't acknowledged thousands of people. I'm doing what I can to keep up this thread. That's how it goes. It's not fair you ruin these weapons and make them unenjoyable just because they are popular. Scouts will become next most popular then you'll nerf those. It's not right. Edit: I believe pretty strongly in this, I love my Suros, Hardlight and Monte Carlo, sadly they don't live up to there names. Major Edit: Appears some are too lazy to actually look at the thread showing the amount of nerf each weapon received, so I will post here, know that these are not my results but another supporter in the community. Edit: Greatly appreciating all the support, this is the only way to get Bungie's attention and get our Auto's back! • I barely use em since it wasn't that big of a deal in dmg, I was actually surprised they decided to nerf them again since they are not a problem to fight against in the first place. I do agree with the pulse rifle buff but the auto nerf was retarded.

          • I still kill just fine with them. However, they didn't need a nerf. Could simply buffed pulse and left at that

Just put them back to pre 1.1.1 in PVE. Suros used to be fun to use. Now it's worthless.

          • Other. Buff them 5%. I used to love ARs (Suros specifically) now I never even use them in PvE.

                • Unless there is some huge discrepancy on a gun, nerfing should not exist in ANY game. I believe the main issue with sticking to one type of weapon especially in PvE is because of the ammo penalty and no hot swap loadout. I love all the weapons in Destiny but when playing in PvE I am forced to use the best overall weapon to complete the task at hand. If I swap guns it takes a long time to do it and switch armor to complement the guns equipped. I then get PUNISHED for changing guns. For these reasons I never use the guns that only work for specific scenarios. My solution: remove ammo penalty, add hot swap wheel on D-pad, trash emotes permanently and watch the fun gun play explode instantly. I've been posting this same thing since September 10th but nothing changed with emotes or nerfs. Maybe I'm a weirdo to think nerfing weapons and emotes are a key to a successful game just like the horrible loot system, missing Halo 2 PvP modes like CTF and anemic content. Perhaps other games I still like to play like DC Universe Online, Diablo 3, Borderlands, Skyrim, Fallout, etc. are just bad games only a couple of players like I really enjoy over a LONG period of time. I really thought Destiny would have been part of the list of games I still play years after its launch date.

                • Spent 6 months waiting to get Suros, I get it, I'm ecstatic. Then, a week later, Bungie super nerfs it. I hate whining, but the 14% was WAY over what was needed. They were fine to begin with imo. People just like fully automatic mid range weapons, that's just facts. ARs will always be a fan favorite, but now nobody wants to use them because they lost so much viability. I'm not fanboying for the ARs, because I probably still use a scout more than anything, but I'm so dissapointed in this nerf. I loved everything they did in the most recent updates, EXCEPT for this nerf, as many others would agree with. My SUROS will now probably collect dust in the vault, which I hate because SUROS has always been my favorite gun since release, and I get a week to enjoy it before it gets harshly nerfed. We ask you Bungie, fix this atrocity and buff back ARs to what they recently were, because they were not OP by any means, they are just good feeling guns that shoot how people want them to, which is why usage is so high. I hope Bungie sees how much usage drops and sees that as an issue. As stated everywhere, people are gonna use what they want to use, so don't think you have to set every weapon "evenly". Anybody ever heard of a story called Harrison Burgeron? I think it shines alot of light on this. In it, society has decided to take away competition and has basically nerfed people, making smart people wear devices that scatters their thoughts, and talented people lose their thoughts, as to even out the population and take away everybody's skills so everyone felt the same. It better shows just how hurtful trying to "balance" stuff is, because no matter what, 1 weapon/type will always be used more, because it proves to be the most effective. I just hope this situation doesn't end like the story did.....

                  • The auto rifle nerf has made me play more with my MIDA and I'm falling in love with it again. I can compete at mid-range with auto rifles using it now where before I'd get bullet spammed to death by the noob Suros users.

                          • Here is my $0.02 on the whole ordeal. As stated the average is much higher than the 2.5% stated. Does this mean that AR's Didn't need a nerf? No, they were the most popular for a good reason. Easy to use and quick kill times due to rapid fire (HRoF ones didn't do well themselves). In all honesty no weapon should ever replace another. The only way to truly balance the weapons is to give them all about the same DPS. As it is this is how the weapons should have been in the tiers of damage per bullet going from lowest to highest. Auto Rifles - High Rate of Fire, Low damage, short to mid-range weapons. Pulse Rifles- In between weapon. A balance between the AR and Scout rifle (before the patch this is not what it was at ALL, it was weaker than AR's) Scout Rifles- Low Rof, High Impact, High range weapons. Good for head shots, but can still take enemies down in a few bullets. Hand Cannons- Highest Impact, Lowest Range weapon. These were meant to short to medium range weapons that rewarded players for getting precision shots and taking their time. Take a look at all the exotic ones and this does the exact opposite. Thorn-DoT, rewards players for Ducking Corners and popping a shot when not under fire themselves. TLW- Rapid fire, Hip-fire weapon. Again, no rewards for what they were supposed to do. HawkMoon- When the bullet's proc todether can 1 shot enemies, probably one of the few that does require the headshot because relying on luck can get you killed. Every weapon should have their niche, but sadly, due to bungie it usually one weapon type being the most popular. Just you wait until there are bad juju's, Red Death's, and Oversoul Edicts everywhere. Bungie should make it so all weapons have their power structure, but have the same kill times. PERIOD! No weapon(s) should be king in crucible. Seems the only thing they got right was Heavies because in the time it takes someone to gun me down with Machine gun, I have already shot a rocket at their feet and that is just damn depressing.

                          • Welcome to what we call a constantly evolving meta game. Bungie is doing the right thing, but they're not giving the right reasons. At least once a quarter a patch needs to come out to topple the reigning most popular while keeping the background weapons relevant. I.e. The next patch needs to slightly buff AR and Scout rifle damage, while nerfing hand cannon range and pulse damage by ~2%, which would make scouts the new number 1. And then do something similar in July/August. This keeps the game fresh and gives people a reason to gather good weapons beyond simple collecting.

                            • Okay. Just because you're too shit to aim with a good hand cannon doesn't mean you can take it out on anyone else. It doesn't matter how much research you do, or how high your k/d was with an auto rifle, or whether you have a Gjally. You are still a scrub.
