While yes I agree with your statement...it goes deeper than just the government. The idea of being American has changed. There was a speech given by general George s. Patton during world War 2 capturing the Americans will to fight....boxing...football and other conflicting sports as Americans we have lost most our will to fight much less care about anything except the next selfie
