Maybe the teleport glitch, isn't a glitch at all. Maybe thats purposely placed there, and you need to find the chest where you glitch too. And by mended they mean go back into the portal and end up back at Atheon?

Or even at gatekeeper, the door stays open, so maybe holding both sync plates and seeing if that activates the portal outside that you can jump over too
