It's just a coincidence that my entire clan has equally opposite exotic duplicates. Yep. Sorry, don't believe it.
Simple probability statistics will reveal that if exotic drop rates were truly randomized, it would be extremely improbable that a player wouldn't have all the RNG exotics after X play time.
BUT that isn't how it works in this game. The RNG is either influenced by external factors, or certain items are assigned much lower certainty than others, my best guess is it's both.
If drop rates were truly randomized, it would be extremely unlikely that myself, and others would receive so many duplicates of singular items we were lucky enough to find in the first place.
Finish high school, take a stats course in college, then come talk to me. Because that's all RNG is, pure statistics and probability.
Now it's still possible, with probability, to have an outlier scenario, but my situation is also similar to anyone who have played since the Alpha last year.
The problem is, there just aren't enough Exotics in the game. With so few to find, Bungie did what they did to prevent everyone from finding them quickly, but allowing all the exotics to appear in the game, it makes perfect sense.
